I got 3 estimates for repair. $3600, $4600, $4800. I also got a quote from Toyota for just the parts it was $1700. I am keeping the low quote and the Toyota quote. I turned in the ones with 4's. Plus $600 for car rental. It takes 6 weeks to process the claim.

My family and I are going into th north cascades next week. In my current state of disrepair we will have to skip most of the off-road portions of the trip. Sad days.

To quote the witness statement " the driver of the Toyota appeared extremely agitated". Understatement of the year.

IMG_0302.jpg These two were better campers than my wife. We lasted about 24 hours then headed to my friends "cabin" in Glacier, Wa. IMG_0316.jpg I'm not sure 4 bedrooms counts as a cabin, but it was a great way to end a not so great trip.

Also s'mores made in the wood stove are just as good as camp fire ones.

I told my wife I'm going to write a book and the title will be "how camping in the instagram era led to my divorce." She didn't laugh. Was the title to long?

Amazingly we all made it home alive. I'll count this as a win. Even with a long bed packed full of way to much stuff, I managed to get 17.3 mpg. I find this amazing. I guess it's my xtra grandpa driving with my whole world in the cab of my truck.

So I finally heard from the city about getting my truck repaired. They wanted to give me $3600 including 5 days of car rental. Ha fucking ha.

When I spoke to him this afternoon I told I wouldn't accept anything that didn't match toyotas quote for parts. Supposedly he will have another offer for me in a day or two. We shall see. I sure would like to get the ball rolling on repairs.

Things I'm currently considering as part of repair process-IMG_0323.jpgARB bumper. Love the classic look and that I could have one in just a few days. IMG_0324.jpgSOS looks great. IMG_0326.jpgPelfreybilt hybrid. My favorite of all hybrids. IMG_0322.jpgCbi looks good short wait times.

They are definitely concerns. I already had to skip off-roading Portion of one trip due to the front end damage. Looking like I will miss another trip around the 4th due to the City trying to be cheap on the payout for damage. And I have another trip planned for the beginning of august that I would like to have everything done on the front end before I go.
