I ordered the inchworm from Low Range off-road because I couldn't get a timeline on a Marlin box. I originally wanted the Marlin from RST but they couldn't even take new orders

 

As you know I'm totally making shit up as I go...

Boy do I miss the days when Marlin actually made stuff

 

I seriously do not understand WTF is going on with Marlin. I have a call into Lowrange to order a box today before their sale ends. I'll have to go with TG 4.7 gears since Marlin doesn't have shit in stock.

 

yeah his customer service blows. I ended up buying another crawl box second hand for my 4runner with the marlin gears. TG stuff has gotten better in the last couple years so I think you should be good to go.

 

Group install? Take a week and slap them all together.

 

I don't think Nathan would want to drive up here from Houston to make that happen...

 

I've lived in Houston, I was looking for excuses to get the hell outta town.

 

I'm crossing my fingers on the TG gears. I'm kinda easy on my rig, so we'll see how it goes.

Probably not in the cards, but that would be fun. Another kink in the works for me is that I'll be swapping the planetary on my transfer case to one from an automatic.

I'm slowly working on that.

There isn't an adapter from the 23 spline output of the taco box to the 22 spline input on my transfer case.

You put in an FJ box out of an automatic. I could do the same, but I'm trying to save a little coin and my cupholders.

 

Cup holders, schmup holders. Dig out an old rafting coozie with a neckband on it.

Sucks to hear about Marlin as I'm getting ready to trip the trigger on a crawl box of my own.

Well, I really don't have a need for twin stick and my stock transfer case still works fine, so I'm going to leave it. Might as well keep some coin in my pocket.

 

Correct. Wyatt has already pulled this off and has a writeup on it. He did leave a few details out, so I'll be picking his brain.

Wyatt also has the input planetary I need.

 

All that work to keep a shitty electronic case and have to extend 10 more wires. Shit have the reason I went through the effort to swap in a crawler was so I could put the FJ case in at the same time. Those takama cases are just plain junk.
