Did you solve the creak? If not, take a look at your sway bars rubbing the lower coil purch. At a similar issue after installing 3rd gen suspension.

Thanks! Right now it definitely does. Once I do my lighting upgrades and throw on a roof rack, that might change.

The alignment got rid of most of the noise, but today I still heard some popping here and there. Not nearly as much as before. I do think it might be coming from the sway bar. If not that then I’m wondering if the Headstrong spacers are not agreeing with the KYB top hats for some reason. Headstrong does make it a point on their website to state that they’re designed for OEM hats but I took the chance. I’m giving it a little more time to settle before I worry about it again.

Weird how different people have different experiences. I did not expect them to rub at all but here we are. :notsure:

Been a little quiet because I have some issues I’m trying to figure out before I order any more fun parts.

Popping noises coming from the front end are back and now occurring randomly when turning, reversing, stopping, and even while driving a straight line on occasion. I can’t find anything loose or unseated so I’m stumped. Next move will be to remove the sway bar and see if the noises go away. If so, I’ll know it’s the new sway bar bushings or it possibly hitting against the lower perch. Really don’t think it’s the ladder, the spacing seems pretty good. Have a feeling I might need to submit to a local mechanic for diagnosis.

The other issue I’m having is with the AC. About 50% of the time, it works great with strong, ice cold air flow. The rest of the time it has very weak air flow with kinda cold air. I’ve already replaced the blower motor, cab and outside filters, and checked the duct under the windshield for blockage. No luck fixing it yet. Any ideas?!

But, I did order these nifty little guys and it might be my favorite mod so far!

If you don't mind, will you update this thread if/when you find out? I'm having the same issue. My truck is driving great, so I've just been ignoring it :anonymous:

Not sure how I feel about these yet but I slapped these guys on today. I hate how they had to go right on the body line. If I went down any further, it looked too close to the light/fender. What do you guys think?

There are quite a few small bubbles underneath, we’ll see if they go away. Not a big deal while I’m trying to decide whether I even want to keep them on. If I end up removing them, I think I’ll leave the bedsides bare and get some small TRD badges to go under the side view mirrors similar to the 3rd gens.

Decided I didn’t like the new bedside decals so they’re gone. While I was at it, I also removed the chrome door badges and replaced them with black TRD Sport badges from Etsy. Looks cleaner and much better IMO. I’ll be removing the tailgate badges as well.

This weekend I’ll be playing with bottles and bottles of lube! :yes:Changing the diff and transfer case oil.

    image.jpg

I think I’ve solved the intermittent weak HVAC air flow by replacing the blower motor resistor and pigtail. So far so good but I’m giving it some time. As for the noisy new suspension, that hasn’t gone away. I was hoping it would work itself out once everything settled but there is still a loud pop from the front end mostly when backing out and turning into parking spots. Every now and then I’ll hear it when coming to a stop and when taking off from a stop. I can’t figure out where it’s coming from and I’m tired of taking the wheels on and off so I’ll be dropping off at my trusted mechanic one day this week for diagnosis. It has to be one of the new components.

POPPING NOISES ARE GONE!! As a last ditch effort I went through every single nut and bolt on all of the front end components I replaced. Loosened them all, then re-torqued them all. I have no clue which part was causing issues but it is solved. Something was either in a bind or not properly torqued I suppose.

The HVAC issue is not solved, however. For another day.

Time to order more fun parts! :woot:

New tail lights! These were an Amazon purchase. Brand name listed as Akkon although I’m sure these are listed under 28 different names. Perfect fit and they feel high quality. Really digging them over the euro-trash OEM lights.

Also decided to bite the bullet and grab a set of 5100s. I want to lift the front more without adding thicker spacers. I’ll be pairing them with 2.5” lift Eibach springs. I think that if set at the lowest setting I’ll be pretty close to level with the back. I got more lift from the General springs HD leafs than anticipated.

I think this makes me a basic bit*h. That’s alright, I like it way more than OEM.

I ordered it with the amber raptor lights but decided against installing them. Just have a feeling I won’t like them and they’ll come off anyway. They’ll be in the FS section shortly.

Thanks! More parts are on the way now.

Including a new fuel pump , I'm pretty certain mine has taken a dump. I've been having issues getting it to start the past couple of weeks.

A present arrived today. A set of SS3 Sports from Diode Dynamics. These will replace the aftermarket LED fogs (unsure of brand, installed by previous owner) that are in the truck now. I won't be installing these until my headlights arrive which are also on order.

New fuel pump was also delivered today. I'll be installing that this weekend to get this beast running again. Hopefully it will be the last bit of maintenance/repairs that I need to do. I've been fooling around with the HVAC issue all week long which has been an annoying adventure. That has been its own thread, I won't get into it any more here.

AND I got notice today that my Eibach springs finally shipped, so the 5100s will be going on soon as well.

Aaaaand the completed facelift will be coming soon...as soon as I get the truck running again, that is.

Installed the new fuel pump and it still won't fire. I had it towed to my trusted mechanic to troubleshoot as I don't have the time nor the equipment needed to properly troubleshoot. HOPEULLY I'll get the truck back by the weekend.

I got the truck back from the mechanic yesterday. Turned out to be some melted wires at the fuse box from the fuel pump. Essentially when the old pump went bad, it was drawing too much power and caused the wires to overheat. She’s running strong again.

So I had some fun today. Facelift is complete…for now…

I have an early tee time in the morning, but I’ll post daylight pics sometime tomorrow!

Today was oil change day and I officially joined the Fumoto valve club. The little tips and tricks you find on this forum are awesome!

Eibachs also arrived today (on a holiday?) so it’s assembly time! Not sure if I’ll install them onto the truck today. I just might if I get bored enough, but if not they’ll go on at some point this week.
