Amazing set up! Great work, super impressive all the personal touches you put on it. That's the great thing about alu cab is how customizable it is. Im looking forward to my full size version that just came out. Which leads me to my question. Would you be willing to share any in progress photos/directions on the wind fairing? What vendor did you use for the aluminum material you used? I won't have a rack but I'm thinking there could be a way to mount it to the table mount that goes under the front hinge in that dead space area. I know you have moved on from this build but would still love to pick your brain about a couple things if you're up for it? i.e the beauty panel.. Cheers! p.s. im new to this thread so not really sure how to dm.. thx!

Hey thanks for the reply, really appreciate the info on the alumilite. Do you have site you have purchased it off of? I can't seem to find a vendor online. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. lol What thickness did you go with? Also is there a site you use to purchase the 80/20 thats cheaper than others?

In posts # 40, 41, 42, and #63 ( with the truck backed up to the garage and ladder next to the truck) or any of your pics on expedition portal...>>sorry still confused the beauty pane>>> is the same stuff and was just to fill in the "U" that was formed by ther alucab sizing supports.?? Can you circle in any of those pics exactly where this is? What purpose does it serve?
    ?
Im putting there new full size version alu cab alu cabin on a 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500. Any advice you could pass down? My only concerns aside MPG is the weight factor of everything. I already have a full guard bumper, white knuch offroad rock sliders, 5 inch lift, 33s. The new camper is around 500- 550 lbs. Im going to be pushing my payload capacity with the bumper/winch, rock sliders, couple passengers, camper, pro eagle 2 ton jack, 4 xtreme maxtraxx, 2 wavian gas can, propane tank, gear, storage ( not sure yet on this phase) thinking of doing my own basic build out of baltic birch. 2 lithium lion energy batteries only 23 lbs a piece and the redarc redvision solar modules. Guy who did my RC 5 inch lift mentioned maybe just adding a leaf spring.

I really appreciate you taking the time to reach out and offer your advice. I know no ones gets any extra hours in the day. so again ty!

okay 8020 vendor with best pricing tnutz.com
alumilite- find a local sign store and ask them to get it for you i used 6mm thickness and also got the trim from the shop for hiding its edge
dreaming if you think it is only going to weigh 5-550lbs i would think a bit more mine was 550 with the cap and the awning only- i did add a leaf on mine as well as added airbags- my taco built out was 300lbs from gross so by the time i added people and gear we were easily 7-800 lbs overweight
i use all redarc in my van build great gear but if you do it right no need for solar in my mind (my van setup is redvision with additional dc-dc charger so pushing 55amps when driving have 560 AH lithium and 3k watt invertor

fyi - i just bought another 4x8 sheet of alumilite and paid $225

" regarding the beauty panel it is a panel that i made out of alumalite that is screwed to the front of the camper where it meets the back of the truck cab. (look at post 5 and you can see the washers and screws holding the panel on at front of camper) for some reason alucab had a c-channel on each side at the front of the camper which was making an "Air Damn" that would cause an awful thumbing sound and had to efect mpg. all the panel did was seal that area off and i did it same time i did the fairing. which between the two i gained a little over 2mpg back assuming i stayed at 70-72 mph. Hope that explains it better

gotcha, makes sense. I believe I see it in the 2nd pic on post #9 and #14. Is it one giant sheet looks like.

I'll give ya a buzz in the next evening or two. I have a 303 area code and will text 1st.
Have you had a chance to to look at the new full size version they have made?

And I meant the new unit by itself will weigh around 550. Minus my leer topper I have on. But ya I already know I will be passed my pay load. Plus awning, water tank, table on back door. shit adds up quick. talk soon. thx again for the vendor info.
