My 2012 DCLB has served me so well in its stock configuration as a commuter truck. Wife and I are stable in our new home. Recent events have prodded me to decide it is time to start prepping it as a haji terror hilux clone just to have in case the SHTF.

Here she is when I bought her 4 years ago. 2 miles on her before I did the test drive, put about fifteen on and every single on after that!

She will be paid off soon so now I want to explore the scene and do some moderate to heavy power modding!

    Current setup

2 black nerf bars, 3 years old.

1 truxport tonneau cover, in great shape.

Goals will be easy firearms access (obeying all laws), lots of water and gas tanks, low power consumption lighting, high power consumption RF and A/V electronics in a dual battery isolator set up, and all the wiring to go all in to that. Bug out truck with special customizations fitting the needs of the owner. Seriously, we be rocking and rolling. ISIS proof, riot proof. Sweet party proof! Also, I want new led lighting for the entire vehicle.

    Future Plans
    • LIGHTING
Step 1: Installation of LED Interior Lights-Jumpers LED *DONE

Step 2: Installation of LED Exterior Lights Assorted Morimotos TBD, Jumpers LED

Step 3: Installation of LED 4WD dial light MODEL TBD

Step 4: Installation of under hood LED light from Jumpers LED

    Audio/Video

Step 1: Locate Pioneer or ALpine 6 inch gps nav screen
    and accompanying accessories within budget.
    1. XM antenna and tuner installation.

    1. Steering wheel tuner and buttons/relays.

    RF (HF/UFH/VHF/SWL/)
Step 1: Install quad band receiver to existing battery setup using supplied powerpole connectors and fuse. Antennal install needed that can be deployed quickly and stowed rapidly.

    1. Upgrade from this small dual band to a nice Quad band antenna - creative install ideas needed TBD.

    1. Mic install on center hump or coin tray TBD.

    3. Install quad band receiver in center console.

    4. Relocate faceplate to TBD in a practical, easy to see location.
