You obviously know nothing about women. You can not tell a woman "No". Especially, if it involves future ass kickings.

    Fixed. :p

So as you know, a huge branch fell on my boat during a wind storm. when i found it the branch was resting on the mast and the right (starboard) side of the boat. so after i moved the branch i took a look at the starboard side hull around where the branch was resting and it was fine. It didn't even look like the branch was anywhere near the left (port) side. the boat is parked on the edge of the driveway which drops away, so the port side is impossible to inspect unless you use a ladder, get in the boat, or move the boat. So i had to move it to let the tree guys take down the dead tree in the back yard. So last night i took the tarp off for the first time and on the port side i noticed these.....

That sucks, but they are fixable. It'll give you something to do.

well, it may or may not be fixable. we're definately gonna try to do a fiberglass patch. i'm worried about teh gash on the side, its about 14 to 16 inches long and i can fit my hand in it. so i dont know that a fiberglass patch will hold

im betting that hole wasnt big enough for his hand when he first found it...i can see nd repeatedly poking his hand in there to show people..."see how big it is...i can almost put my hand in there"

well, we're gonna try it and see if it works. if not we're gonna have to buy a whole new boat which is a huge pain in the ass. we may strip this one and look for a new hull or something if the patch doesn't hold. either way i want to take it out and let it sink

yeah, at first the hole wasn't big enough to put my hand in. so i had to use a sledge hammer and a crow bar to pry it open a little. THEN i proved how big it was by putting my hand in it. who's the idiot now jeff?

hell no, next time we take it out i'm wearing a life jacket and no electric stuff (cell phone, camera, key fob, etc...) and a sharp knife and something to cut the metal cables in case it sinks and i get caught up in the rigging. next time we take it out i'll be 100% prepared for it to go under

so what your saying is that instead of a fiberglass patch, i should try to weld the actual hull closed? thats a good idea
