I'm away on business and my wife just called me. Our 11.5 year old Golden, Tucket, out of the blue, has been throwing up all day and not moving from one spot. Took him to the vet and he has a very high temperature, not a good sign for an older dog, vet wiill run tests but says it is GI related and probably not good. He is on antibiotics right now. I'm really hoping it isn't the end for my buddy, we just lost his brother last year to cancer and I'm still hurtin' from that.

I know he's 11.5 but man, I just can't bear to think this could be over.

Would really appreciate positive thoughts being sent Tucket's way, I believe it can help. Thanks for your support.

Tucket is the darker one on the left. Hampton, the lighter one, we lost last year.

Guys thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers, but the vet called my wife and my dog has taken a turn for the worse. It is time to say goodbye.

It really pains me that I cannot be there to say a final goodbye to my dog in person, but I can't allow him to suffer any longer, so I told my wife to make sure that she is there with him and to tell him how much I love him.

This is always so hard to deal with, I know all of you know exactly how it feels to lose a pet. It's going to be a long night tonight in this hotel room, and an even longer day to sit through a meeting and then fly home just thinking of an empty house and happier days.

Make sure each of you give your pet a hug and cherish every moment. The time we have with them is truly fleeting.

Thanks again for your support and prayers. It means alot to me and to Tucket.

    Dave

Thanks for your thoughts my tacomaworld friends. The worst part is I could not be there for him in the end, as I was - and still am - far away on business. I can only hope that he felt my tears and all your positive thoughts before he passed on.

Today is going to be a rough one for sure. Going to have to put on the game face for the next meeting this morning. Ugh.

Thank you again for your support, it really means alot.

    Sorry for your loss.

Not sound insensitive but stories like these are the reasons I will not allow myself to get attached
    to a animal/pet.

My wifes cat of 9 yrs must of had a seizure over the weekend, wife's freaking out, kids crying etc..dang! owning a pet is just to sad!
