My pooch needs some prayers

My mom and pop have a Golden and her name is Gracie! They make the best companions! Unreal how strong they're love is! They love you no matter what you look like or how bad you smell! Unconditional...

I feel you're pain, I was about to start a thread like this of my own. I have a Miniature Australian Sheppard that is almost 14 and he is taking a turn for the worst. He's had a bad cough for about 6 months now that he's been on meds for, and over the last week he's started losing his motor skills. I don't know how much time we have left with him but he's getting all kinds of loving right now. Prayers sent your way.

 

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

 

I'm so sorry for your loss. I read once that it hurst so much when one of our pets crosses the bridge because they take a piece of our hearts with them. But, in its place, they leave a piece of theirs. Run free, sweet boy!

We had to help our Yellow Lab, Daisy, cross the bridge last May. She was just a few weeks short of 15 and we had so many wonderful years and memories. I still miss that old girl, though.

if you don't mind me asking, what was it that tucket had to be put down for?

 

That sucks... Sorry for the loss.

 

This makes me sad because I know I'll be going through the same thing with my golden, Chewy, within the next 7-8 years (he just turned 6). Not to mention, Tucket looks just like Chewy.

 

So sorry for your loss, jackhart. I lost my 10.5 Golden Retriever in May of 2010 (he passed right beside me at home).

Thoughts are with you through this tough time. Your pooch is now watching over you and your family from doggie heaven!
