Haha, yeah that was me. The warm weather calls for light clothing, but other than tacking stuff together we use welding jackets.

Josh says he wants a 22 ride height at the frame, while running 37's.

If we are to do a 3 link without much craziness, it will show 4 inches of shock shaft at static ride height. At least that is what I am seeing at the moment.

Do you have any pics or details of the connection between the steering column and new steering shaft? I am curious how that connection is made.

Also do the 2nd gens require a firewall plate like the first gens?

    Fish plates look good

The connection is made by using the correct u-joint. It just attaches the two shafts together.

    Also, no firewall plate needed.

correct. the exact part number are listed in Mark's (NWItaco) build thread. you can just order the joint and telescoping shaft from Summit Racing and use a 3/4 heim for a center support to prevent deflection.

if and of you guys have a picture of your fire wall plate can you post it up? the original owner seems to have booger fabricated some shit on that also…never ending or so it seems

Looking at his thread I think you had the right idea to cut the outside of the frame rail out and rebuild with flat plate, that really simplifies things.

mock up links are in. The tie rod is finished and TIGed up. Some of these pictures the axel is at static ride height and some are at bump. Aluminum links have been ordered. Still have to figure out the panhard. It more than likely will be steel and powder coated to match the aluminum.

Wheels FILIALLY got here!!! Beadlocks were TIDed on as was the conning material and the wheels and lock rings have been sent out for powder coating. No half ass welds being ground down refilled and silicone on the back side… all done right there is a full tech write up on the beadlocks on www.NC4x4.com

the crossmember is about 50% mocked up and should be done by tomorrow night. we are approaching the crossmember differently than most. we are using stock Toyota Tcase and trans mount but the design of the crossmember is very different than all the other I have seen.

work has been a little crazy and I have had to travel a bit more than I like to but we were able to get a little bit done last night. we focused on getting some of the crossmember finished. it is still not 100% but it is pretty darn close

I appreciate the offer, I would love that! I go to high rock lake regularly. If you're gonna be around next weekend I would love to stop by.
