Hello TW, I’m a long time lurker of the forums and used to own a 2008 dcsb 2wd trd sport. I sold it and missed it so I replaced with with the truck I originally wanted but couldn’t afford at the time: a face lifted 2014 dcsb 4x4 trd or.

Unfortunately within a few weeks of ownership, my truck was hit when it was parked on the street! Luckily the other driver had full coverage.

A little RSX hit my rear tire and pushed in the axle. The leaf spring broke and the ear holding the spring is tweaked. The bed isn’t straight and there’s a small bit of cab damage. My nfab step bar actually folded in on the end from the impacting the tire. The impact pushed the truck onto the curb.

I’m kinda bummed out but im glad I wasn’t in the truck. Do you guys think it’s totaled?

I had the exact same thing happen to me this time last year. Body shop repaired it aalland dis a great job. I ended up needing g a new axle housing and axle, bed side, and leaf springs.

Best of luck, thats a nice looking truck. Have it fixed right and make the body shop/the insured replace a lot of the rear wear and tear while in there at a reputable shop.

Thank you guys! I took a further look and noticed the c frame is a little bent where the ear that holds the leaf is located. I also have a golfball size dent under the cab. I’ll keep you guys updated on whether it’s totaled or not. I wonder if it’s an easy enough fix to consider buying back if insurance does decides to total it.

Well guys it turns out it is a total loss! The insurance company offered me an amount that I can't complain about. Hopefully I'm able to find a good replacement. :)
