that’s not my understanding.. it is a mechanical LSD with locking characteristics when the brakes are engaged while accelerating.

From the video from Eaton I watched 6 pinion gears slide over the side gears and lock it.

I stand corrected, an lsd is NOT a locker.

It's a little different with a supercharger…both tires spin quickly.

That's the one things about gears...they cant add 60whp.

That’s why I am confused about the characteristics of the TruTrac in the below situation
    https://youtu.be/lA52RTjOcQw

also as per reports and research, lightly riding the brakes should send power to both wheels by tricking the differential into thinking both tires need traction. I have yet to 100% confirm this in my applications

Well, from my knowledge, the oil doesn't matter (you don't need the special LSD additive with the TrueTrac), so you can rule that out.

100% DONT use LSD additive. They recommend against it

Yeah, so it's not the gear lube that is your problem.

Does your parking brake work / rear drums adjusted? Maybe you have a lot of hydraulic pressure biased to the front brakes and not enough is getting to the rear, which would require you to use more brake to get the rear to lock up.

Yeah parking brake works just fine. I think it was either I was going to slow and the forces were applied or I wasn’t applying enough brakes.

i am hoping someone reading this has played with theirs more. I feel when it engages normally but I am always in the drivers seat and I can’t exactly tell what it is doing

Lockers aside, and back to the gears, as per thread title, how's towing with these gears?? Nothing too heavy, just towing in general?? I'm sure my current mods will help in this over-revving that others always talk about, but the exhaust gears and what not. How do those help efficiency?? Better exhaust scavenging??

Nice. I’m on 4.88s (auto) and 35s. So glad I didn’t go 4.56. 4.56 would be for someone who drives their truck mainly on the highway

Any idea what the lead time from ECGS is right now? I need gears, planning on 4:88's so the experiences in this thread help reconfirm that.

Anybody get gears and have them cryo treated and electro polished before install or does everybody buy the assembled members and just drop the chunks in?

I am hoping to get set up with HP Tuners to do some data logs before and after I install a set of the exhaust cam gears, so I'll let you know. I haven't heard anyone have negative feedback or even neutral feedback after installing them - with or without a supercharger.

Nice. Still wondering if 4:88's are for me given I do lots of hwy for work, and will be towing on wknds. Lots of hills in my area. I currently run long tubes, cai, upper plemum spacer, air flow sensor spacer, x-piped dual inlet single outlet exhaust, so I'm very free flowing, just wondering if I'll be screaming, or just cruising?? Either 4:88's with 35's or 37's, and or 4:56's. Currently on 305x20's and current gearing. Not the best, but I can chirp some rubber still..

ProCharger supercharger will be my last costly upgrade. So maybe 4:56 will be my go to?? This way I still have some top end to to be a sleeper on the street, and blaze on the trails..
