    *Happy Dance*

So, now that its here....How do you guys mount them? I was going to use a garage lift system, but I am too tall with my lift to get it in and out. So then I thought about 2x4s on the rear rack, then winch it up the ramp..... But...then I realized I had all you brainiacs and figured someone has created a cool lift, so tell me! :)

Anyone leave em on year round??

    Honeycomb composite sleeper platform.
I was thinking to back in and pull the RTT with webbing. Figured if I can rappel from the stuff it is more than capable of holding the tent. It should be high enough to clear the hood and cab in the garage when not in use. Planning on running two anchors per tie in point reducing the load and creating redundancy incase one fails. Might be overkill but better to have it hold than find it on the hood in the morning.

No pictures of the plan as of yet as teh tent just got mounted last week.

What UBYBC said. I keep mine on a 4 wheel dollie and just roll it out to the truck. Roll it on to the tailgate and then up onto my rack. Did it on my bed rack and now onto the top of my shell. It can get a little sketchy solo so its always better to have a friend around.

Well, my initial thoughts go something like this...

Seems really well built, great zippers (something I always worry about), tight seams. I was only in and out a few times as it was on dollies on my garage floor, but appears to be quite large. Simple in design and assembling the rails and ladder were simple. The instructions are weak to say the least, coming from a guy who didn't know RTTs existed a year ago.
I did discover that trying to get the travel cover hooked up and stretched over when its new and cold out makes for an experience....it was obviously not pliable in the 2 degree Celsius weather.
I am scared I am gonna dump it through my caps rear window doing that flip technique...and not sure I am strong enough to control all the weight by myself. Its only 200#, but BULKY.
I will keep you all informed!

I bought a dolly from home depot works fine to drag it around then I pushed it against the wall and put 2 eye screws and bungee cord to keep it in place

sorry, that was the shipping weight... :D
It is #195 with the annex. ;)

Still fricking heavy to get onto a lifted truck cap! :p

I am hoping once the cover sits in the sun it will get more supple and be easier to work with.

I went to Princess auto (are they in the states? Think Harbour freight) and they had a bunch of 1000lb wheeled dollies on sale for like $22 each...I bought a few cause I am lazy and thought that one would be perfect for the tent...it is, and I will flip it up against the wall like you have...good idea, doesn't take up much space.

what I did was follow the youtube vid of the guy doing it by himself worked for me basically put the dolly in the center of the RTT, drag it to the bed bring the gate down but have the rail part where your screw the bolts down to the rail facing you, lean it and flip it up so now the rail that mounts is facing the bed rack and lift one more time and set it in place I got scared the first time too but its cake.

yes 1000lbs dolly will work I got mines from home depot it was I think 25 inches wide so it worked well for me now if you want the dolly under the RTT while in storage or put away, get a dolly with a brake lock wheels or put 2 in the front width wise and push against the wall and lock the brake so it wont move and when your ready to put it on your truck your ready to go

oh snap my bad i didnt konw you had a top on yours. well you can put a blanket over it and hope that works if anything you know like the blankets you get from movers or the ones they use and from what others have done they put a chair on the side of the instead of the opening the tailgate and lift it from rear wheel well side and adjust. yeah I hate it sometimes putting it up cause I have to make sure its centered and all its a pain in the ass I did it in my garage 4 times so I can get used it taking it off and putting it on

just put something under the CVT like the thin cardboard just cut it to size and put it under it when stored keeps from the cover from ripping up when trying to adjust or drag it in place. yeah if you find a bungee cord that stretches enough not loose but somewhat tight that would work fine.
