Like title says, I noticed in the winter it was rubbing my bed whenever I open or closed the tailgate to the point where it would cause a loud rubbing / pop noise as it was actually lift that corner of the bed up. Weather is hot now and doesn't seem to do anymore, I guess. Anyone else's do that?

I also tried to take it off to reinstall, but it seems stuck and won't budge.

Mine did that. I shaved a tiny amount of composite off where it rubbed with a blade, no problems after that.

Mine does the same. Doesn't affect function. Shaved off material where rubbing. Still need to repaint the lock as it's red color is all rubbed off.

Well, I was going to install a SaBellCo lock but now I’m having second thoughts.

I've heard of others having an issue with the lock where it seizes. I never planned on taking mine off, so I don't worry about it.

edit: I haven't noticed the lock rubbing.

My truck had a generous amount of the composite material where the lock sits. Not a problem. You simply file some of it off with a rasp. Very very easy.

Is your lock the real authetic version or the shitty fake?

Thought I was the only one but I guess filing down the bed a small bit seems like the solution. I haven’t looked in a while but gonna try and see how I can fit a file there since the lock is now stuck.

I’m assuming it’s authentic as I purchased it from SaBellCo’s website.

I'd be interested in photos...here's mine. No issues since 2022...and I don't plan on removing it either.

That's a brand I've not seen before...the bolt sticks above the lock.

    upload_2025-6-12_10-24-23.png

There aren't clearance issues with the gate & bed...I just checked mine and there's plenty of gap space.

That's the cylinder, not the bolt. The bolt is the piece on the bottom side that locks it to the tailgate. It's a Medeco cylinder in a SaBellCo lock. I also have an Abloy cylinder and it protrudes even more. I don't have any issues with the Abloy cylinder clearing either.

I did not know what to call it but you knew what I was talking about.

Yeah, I verified by looking at my setup with the tailgate closed and saw there were no issues with rubbing.
