i wouldn't think you could mount them directly to the grill (satoshi)
i am still tossing around the idea of hella 500's behind my satoshi...but i will be mounting them to the radiator support like 6shooter had...

to make a satoshi, you would need to do everything in my write up. to put lights behind and aftermarket grill, you just need to cut out the cross beams in the grill.

just to let anyone know that is relocating their horns, make sure you leave your temp sensor on the grill cause it will report hotter than the actual temp inside the engine bay. I learnt from experience

i don't think i posted it but i found a hole directly to the left of the right head light and mounted the horns there, leaving the temp sensor in its factory location.

how did the sides of the grille, where you put fiberglass and bondo, turn out? I mean how smooth is it? Up close can you tell that it has been sanded and whatnot?

So if you sanded it down smooth with high grit sandpaper, then painted over, it would be very smooth to the touch, just like the plastic?

Also, how does the paint look over the different textured surfaces? The plastic, bondo, and fiberglass.

I did so much sanding with mine that it has the same feel everywhere. I finished off with a 2000 grit wet sanding. It had a nice finish and after I had a body shop paint it you couldn't tell the difference in areas.

Awesome! thanks for the info, I was worried about that. Its those little imperfections such as those that bother me. I'm sure no one but me would ever notice, but still.

Giving this mod a shot in the next few weeks, I feel pretty confident after a little research and intel from my fellow TW members!!
