Great job. I was thinking doing this same mod myself. But I was not planning on paying to much for an actual Satoshi grille. I'm gonna have to stop by Lowe's and take a look around.

The final product(at least until you get the real mesh) looks pretty damn good for a 1st timer. I really have the urge to do this now, except I'd like to find a white TRD Sport grille to do it on.

That's exactly right. I had $200 in materials because the Grillcraft mesh alone cost $150something. The grill I bought from ebay was $79 + $25 shipping, The emblem from the 70's FJ was $60 or $70 + shipping and the mesh cost me $20 from a buddy at a local welding supply house. So actually it was well over $200. If you use your own grill, find an emblem (if you want one) for cheap, and buy a piece of mesh from a local welding shop, you could do it for next to nothing, other than the terror of cutting up a perfectly good grill. By the way, your satoshi mod looks good to me!

Sorry for confusing you, the grill with the Grillcraft mesh I sold on ebay. The mesh I used for my truck is called 1/8" perforated stainless 14 gauge, because that's the closest match I could find to the mesh that's in the hood scoop from the factory.

It looks really good man. I cant tell how good it looks.

I think the reason why its so revealing is because of the Alabama sun mixed with the mesh.

Are you going to put the Toyota on the grille or leave it be?

I had the toyota off the tail gate and a trd to put on but they are packed up somewhere from when i moved back here. For now I'll prob put the T back on there. Nice thing about that mesh is the original T clips right back in.

i initially was going to leave everything on, then i got bored and was going to take it all off, took off the toyota and prerunner, realized it was too fucking cold out to be picking at the adhesive and gave up.

sure. Unfortunately i'm the first for a lot of things so i always have to buy everything. Now i have enough spray paint and bondo to do a million grills.
