My shifter jerks,need input!

    Hey everyone i am new to this site. i have been hawking on it for awhile and really enjoy it. I bought a 2004 Double Cab trd off road, with 118,000 miles on her in San Diego. I took her to the "truck shop" in San Diego, and everything is running great. so i think.(i'm a total noob) The past couple days when i come to a red light or stop sign i have noticed that the car jerks(i don't know if jerk is the right word but it feels like it sits down real quick) a slight bit and the shifter pulls back quickly. when i accelerate i feel it pull a little too. is it something to be concerned about or is this normal?

    Here is some info on the truck if that helps:
    I am the second owner.
    Manufactured in Fremont, CA
    Originally Sold in El Cajon, California
    Bought in Miramar, California (by me, used car dealership)
    So Cal truck only
    119,950 Miles-currently
    Maintenance at 118,500(replace spark plugs, replace air filter, replace windshield fluid reservoir, replace timing belt and tension rollers, replace water pump, replace t-stat, replace front struts, replace rear shocks, replace coolant, replace steering rack bushing, reseal valve cover gasket, EFI service, alignment, and got new tires. General Grabber AT/2- 245/75/16) i get an average 18MPG and have just put a full can of seafoam in the fuel tank. its runs so smooth.

    Is creating a new thread appropriate to find an answer to this question or is there another direction i should go.thank you!

    That would be axle wrap my friend. Also possibly carrier bearing. Does it jerk when shifting while you are parked?

    it does not jerk at any other time, just when i come to a stop. usually faster speeds.

    Axle wrap for sure, get spring helpers, or stiffer leaf springs.

    Tbh I'm not sure, it changes your pinion angle when I wraps so I guess that could slowly mess up stuff in transmission or differential I'm not sure, here's a write up for spring helpers though.
