    Why no Sig Mega thread?

Any way, here's my 226 Elite.

Wish I didn't sell my sigs. P226 .40 was my favorite. Very fine pistols!

Something's wrong with your 9mm bullets. :bananadead:

ETA So you don't think I'm just busting your balls.

Your Sig's daddy (W. German gun from the '80s); factory backwards (European) threaded barrel (original barrel is normally in it). Mec-Gar 20rnd mag. The pictures make it look better than it does in real life, it's got quite a few more wear marks that aren't showing up. I wish I had a newer model with a rail though, especially an optics ready Legion, but still in 9mm. Oh, and an original P228.

Before some smoothbrain starts drooling, yes, there is a stamp with that can.

Not sure why it loaded sideways.

I enjoy my P220 Combat. I couldn’t help myself and made a few changes out of the box. Got a solid stainless steel guide rod, swapped out the polymer main spring seat for a bar stock steel variety, and installed Hogue grips because why not? One thing that surprised me was with the factory Sig 8 round mag - ONLY with Sig personal defense ammo - every round would catch on one area of the mag housing that was pressed in ever so slightly too much. A factory imperfection in the magazine itself. Same ammo functioned perfectly in the ten round mag. Both mags came new with the pistol. Funny this is coming up at all because after owning it for 10 years, I just dremeled out some metal from the problematic mag and it works fine now. Took it apart for the material removal but that’s no biggie. Never needed a gunsmith and I’ve fully torn down a single action revolver, along with every other firearm I’ve owned. Tinkering is fun and how else do we learn?

    * this of course is just a basic field strip. When I say fully tear down I mean the sear is out along with just about every single pin. The firing pin comes out of the slide too, along with the extractor. Clean is clean.

What's the current price for a standard da/sa p226 with 2 mags? Not California prices. Most I'm seeing locally listed are starting at $800. One guy has his listed with g10 grips for $850 but has medical bills and says if I buy it by Sunday he will take $775. I'm thinking about offering him $725 and I can buy it today if he wants to unload it fast.
    Thoughts?
    Pic of gun for sale:

Edit: nevermind, I'm going to pass. I just realized this is a non railed frame. Only non rail sig frames I'd own better be made in Germany.
But the question still stands, what should I be paying for a used p226 da/sa 9mm?

That's a bargain these days. 5 or so years ago you could get a P226 for $500-700 no problem. I sold 2 of them thinking I could replace later. Now I'm screwed lol.

Love the 226. Sig is definitely my favorite.

    I've got a 226 and 220, sold my 228 and regret it.

So what you're saying is, don't sell my p229 just cause I got the p226 huh. Think I can manage that.

I actually have the conversion for mine from .40, .357, 9mm and .22.
The funny thing is that I only have about 50 rds. shot as a .40 cal. ever with this Sig. (Never shot it in any other config.)
It's the "Elite" model which is exactly like the Legion but without the markings and the grips. (Has the same trigger pull and internals)

My very first sig was a sig p229 in .22 cal (not the mosquito) and It came with a .40 cal xchange slide kit. Was the cheaper way to get a .40 p229 plus 22 slide than buying a .40 229 and .22 slide kit. It was actually the 2nd gun I ever owned. Wish sig would have kept selling the exchange slide kits.
