Thank you, It'd be awesome if I could make that happen. I feel like I could repair the rear end on my own, but I am not so sure about the front. There seems to be a lot that got moved around up front and I don't think I could pull it off and make it look good.. but maybe, idk

Truck has started to act funny today...shaking when I accelerate at low speeds. And the idle is not good...

Getting a rental this afternoon. Thought my truck was okay to drive. But it seems to be getting progressively worse. Can't believe it. I was so sure it was mechanically sound. Ugh
And my accident report isn't ready yet, so I have to pay out of pocket until I can get ahold of it hand it in to the insurance company!

Ha, I used to work for Lehigh Valley Health Network. Magnets, we used to have them all over the place. I think I still have one or two in the garage.

Within the next few days, the perpetrators insurance is going to have someone do a preliminary estimate on my truck. Considering the comments so far, and the pictures provided, does anyone have an idea as to how much the repairs will cost if done by a reputable shop?

Ha, well I'm not sure I have the skill set needed to satisfy my own aesthetic standard. If that makes sense? In other words, I could "fix" it, but it will NOT look good lol

Yes actually. My truck was deemed a total loss by their insurance, surprisingly. I made a difficult decision and let my truck go. It was very hard for me, but I felt like it would have been too much trouble for me in the long run to keep it. So I took the insurance check and now I'm hunting for a new one.
I actually need some advice on one that I am looking at right now. All aspects are a go, as far as I can tell. BUT...there is a rust issue
It's a 2000 4x4. Two owners. Never in an accident. Very well maintained. But he told me that there are two quarter size rust spots. After speaking with me on the phone, he sent me a message saying that he is having the frame professionally repaired. I can deal with a little rust. But I'm just not sure. It's such a great deal otherwise. Just like my old one.
Here are the pictures he sent me. What do y'all think?

Yeah that doesnt look too pretty. even with those spots you got a lot of deep surface rust to take care of after those are resolved.. and with that trend often comes rust eating the insides away that you dont even catch

I used to think about building a exterior frame all around my truck made from railroad track steel. that way if anyone hit me, it would destroy their vehicle in the process. Of course I would have to seriously upgrade my suspension to support the weight of the rail steel. :)
