Glad you like it! I wanted to throw together some more in depth walkthroughs as I found them lacking when I first went hunting. If you want another great build that has great detail on the process (and has quite a few cooler mods than I do) check out @KTJO 4x4 's build page.

    Ok.. the horns are in!!!

Now for getting them in the truck.

Step 1.. get the grill out the way.

You could see that those two little stock horns needed to go.

Look at them.. so small and sad.

When you stack them next to the Cadilac horns.. just no contest.

Ok for mounting, I had to drill the holes out more than they came, but that is because I went with a tree format rather than a standard mount.

Measuring for fit. I bought a 36" threaded piece.. and just cut it to fit with a hacksaw.

My test fit had everything bouncing back and forth. I used simple nuts and washers to move everything to where I wanted and hold it in place.

Finally you can see how well everthing sits in the third gen. I just used some simple L brackets from the hardware store to mount everything up. I went for this instead of using the center column as I didn't want to block my radiator and I didn't want anything visible from the front.

This is driving along.. remember that my truck has an insane amount of sound proofing already.. I love that deep tone.

Out in the driveway... gotta love that echo! (pay no attention to the barefoot and pajamas.. its saturday.. dont judge me)

It came out great.. I experimented with a few different mounting options.. but hooking them up in a tree ended up being the best by far.

Since you have a sunroof and prinsu, did this help much with the rack wind noise? Just put prinsu on and wind noise is a bit more than was expecting. I already have everything else done with Dynamat and Dynaliner. Thanks

It did dramatically, I also have a solar panel up there that blocks the sunroof. That could be helping as well

Couple more questions for you on your roof sound deadening.
    1. Does the sunroof slide just stay up there?
    2. There's no special clips around the sunroof holding the headliner
    3. How thick of padding did you use after the sound deadening? I Don't want to go too thick.
    4. You don't have to pull the pillar molding in the back or between the doors?

    Thanks

His sun roof does slide when he first did his sound deadening up there. I remember him saying he would lay the product down and then reconnect the battery, just to make sure that the sunroof wouldn’t catch on anything. However, now that he has his solar panel covering it and the rack, I’m not sure he opens it. I used Ensolite IUO Peel and Stick Sound Deadeningof a Superior High Frequency Acoustical and Thermal Barrier and it is pretty thin, but works well. As for the pillars, you don’t have to pull any of them, but it makes it a lot easier of a job. It’s really up to you on that one because it’s been done both ways. I believe he didn’t remove his and I started to do mine the same way, but then I said screw it and removed them. I didn’t want to take the time that it would have taken me to get the ceiling untucked from behind the pillars and then reinstalling them and having to take the time to tuck the ceiling back in. I believe he has a ton of pics of the whole process because I followed them myself  that was a huge favor he did for me and I couldn’t be more thankful for the time he spent putting those writeups together. Awesome. Awesome man!

Yes he is and his write ups helped me do my whole interior. As for the sunroof slide I read the part about testing it as he went but I'm wondering if the (shade slide) stays up there or comes down with the headliner. Can't tell from his pics.

The shade slide stayed up there through the whole process. I don't recall any special clips in that area, just the ones around the outside edge. I believe just the form of the sunroof held it up. The padding I used 1/4 inch thick, and that was on top of the dynomat style material. You don't have to pull the pillar molding, you can tuck in and tuck out for getting the headliner out, but it certainly makes it easier (I went back a second time and pulled them out that time). I think I plan to go back and add more padding since I don't use my sunroof at all anymore.

The solar panel has put me in a precarious situation that I need to fix. The sunroof is perfectly fine sliding to the back, allowing for fresh air to come in around the solar panel. But if I lift the edge vent style, it will hit that solar panel. I think I want to disable that part of the sunroof, while retaining the sliding part. I need to look at the overhead switch panel, perhaps I can just pop out and protect that switch, possibly even replacing it with a switch that I can use for something else...
