So appearently this truck has been doing this for years according to my buddy i bought this truck from.

Sometimes i have to hold the key in the starting position for a good 5 seconds before the starter cranks over. Sometimes it cranks right up and sometimes i have to attempt multiple times to hold the key all the way in the starting posistion for several seconds before it finally cranks. If it was and issue with the brass contacts in the solenoid i would think they'd eventually stop contacting the plunger all together and the truck wouldn't start. But this has been going on for years.

    Any ideas?
