Bought this 2000 Toyota Tacoma back in June of 2001 with 25k on it, and drove it until Aug 2013, with an ending mileage of 509k. Made this short tribute video shortly after it turned 500k, and I took it in for a timing belt replacement (Aug 2013, 509k), and they informed me there was a recall on the truck (frame), and Toyota bought the truck back for an astonishing $15,042.00. Truck has witnessed almost a 100 tornadoes in it's life, and brought me home safe every time with not a single mechanical failure. Only routine/preventative maintenance it's entire life. Check my gallery for more details. Sad to see it go, but had too for all the right reasons. Truck was crushed. (RIP little buddy 2000-2013)

Yeah I still chase! New Tacoma already has several tornadoes under it's belt. Intercepted it's first tornado just within weeks after taking new ownership last October near Sioux Falls, SD. This year about a half dozen in SD, and NE.

Here's my Vimeo channel where I now upload most of my videos too!

Take care buddy, and thanks for asking!

    Chris

You're the one who needs to take care! Chasing tornadoes like Bill Paxton! That's an incredible job you have that can only be done with the assistance of a trustworthy truck.

Awesome, interesting thing you do chasing storms, bet you've seen some good ones. And 500,000 miles of reliable Tacoma service is sweeet, and 15,000$ after is even sweeter. Keep us posted on the new truck miles and storm adventures. Stay safe.
