i had 2 10 inch earthquake dbxi dvc subs in my scion tc and when i traded it in for my tacoma. originally i had both subs in a sealed box on the back seat, finally got around to building an actual custom box for them..

    first off what i have
    2 earthquake dbxi-10d dvc 10s wired to 1-ohm
    1 earthquake ph2000w-d1.1
    kenwood ddx-419
    true 4 awg power wire
    knukoncepts krystal 2m RCAs
    knukoncepts fuse holder
    knukoncepts
custom behind seat box with 4 in port tuned to between 37-40 hz (not sure what the exact volume is so its in there)

subs are flush to box still need to carpet but making sure everything's tuned properly before hand and i dont need to change anything....

i used winisd you can use a preset sub or put your sub info in to get a better idea of what your going to get. you put number of subs, box volume, tuning frequency, and diameter of desired port. this will give you a vent mach and a port length... you want your vent mach to be less then .15 so you may have to play around with the port diameter and frequency heres an idea of the setting you will enter

its 8.25 of wood but its not exactly flush against the back where the fiberglass is... so it would probably about 8.75-9 inches total

Looks great!! What do you think of it so far? How far forward are you moving to have to move the seats to get them to clear the box?

the bottom came out to exactly 8.75 inches and the top came out to 4 inches

what mounting depth are you referring to the subs mounting depth or the depth of th box

i love it the only problem i have is it flexes the piss out of the back wall/glass when its really hitting and it can get annoying but with the seats back in it has just enough pressure to help limit that

i put a nut on the inside of the bolt for the top clips on the seats to bring it out about 1/4" and had to remove the black plastic backing so the subs would not hit them i clear the back of the seat barely but with a 1.5-2" excursion thats expected sitting in the back seat is an amazing massage

Looks great. Did you put any bracing in the box to help prevent flexing?

How much power are you throwing at them to cause the flexing?

they are rated at 500watts rms apiece my amp puts out 1250 rms total and when talking with earthquake when i got the setup they said the subs are underrated and i could run both subs at the 1250 without issue i just talked to them yesturday too and they said that my box size is ideal for what im pushing to them... he made sure to say to double triple check clearance from seat back to make sure they didnt hit it but they will be fine otherwise

just to give you an idea i have a friend of a friend who has 12 kicker comp 10s running at 10000 watts and ive been told by many people my 2 10s blow his system away and another friend sent me a text when i was about 3/4 mile from his house saying he could still hear me inside his house... tonite i will see if it can be heard inside a nighclub that a guy i know djs at while they are open
