No. The sad part is that I knew that when I bought it. Who knows though, the urd could have saved me by stalling everything all at once. It went under right away. Had I had the factory intake it may have sipped water and exploded on the spot.

 

True. On the upside, it appears it all worked out to be a big learning experience.

 

Note to self: don't use truck to off-road, keep it a pavement queen

 

Best part was when we were coming back at night from that "other camp" and the truck was sitting there with the lights turned on, but no key inside. Like a ghost truck, kinda was scary lol.

Buy some extra beer and invite some wrench turning friends over this weekend. Never hurts to have some extra pairs of hands, and even some other opinions for that matter.

 

I would have insurance total it, then buy it back from insurance. Boom! New wheeling rig. Use the rest of your check as a down for a daily.

 

Ontario insurances aren't the best, I think they are the worst in NA, at the end he will $$$ more.

I don't think it's right to pass it off on some other buyer. If you aren't having major problems now you probably won't down the line. Maybe spend $1000 and get an extended warranty from someplace.

 

Like I said, I would totally disclose all issues with this if I were to sell privately. To a dealer, no they can eat it. Jow would I get extended warranty? There is and has not been warranty on this truck for a couple of years.

 

You can get them online or from just about any dealership. Just do a little research to make sure they get good reviews. Some suck but a lot of them are pretty good.

It's good of you to disclose it. Chances are that it will cost you more in depreciated value than it will to just fix stuff as it breaks.

 

I think you are getting a service in return for payment. You pay them to insure the car. Maybe it breaks and maybe it doesn't. If you trade it in the dealership is just going to spit shine it and pass the problems to someone else. If the new buyer doesn't get an extended warranty then they get screwed.

 

That happened to me.... factory intake, small amount of water, bent rod....

 

With in 10 or 15 minutes of me arriving, your truck was spewing so much water out from under the hood I was in awe.
