6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
Mine pulled the yxz through Colorado. Higher altitude it gave me a little fuss but I just put my foot down. Old faithful hasn't let me down yet.

OP has the gas motor....Correct, LS (well technically LQ) but yes, you are correct. Same goes for the 4L80, that was always mated to the gas motors AFAIK. Dmax got the 5, then 6 speed alison, or the NV4500 manual.

    Yeah no, never again.

I have no idea what the purpose of this post is. Can't even read it because of excessive ellipsis use. Nothing is coherent or makes sense.

Why did it fail the tow test?

I pull a Kawasaki Teryx with a 16ft trailer. Only time it struggles is climbing up the mountains. Flat land it pills it great.

If you compare 6 manual gears to 5 auto gears 1st is way lower(because manual) 2nd is also lower, 3rd is slightly lower and 4th (the extra gear) is slightly taller than 3rd on autos, 5th is the same as 4th on auto (drive aka 1:1) and 6th is your OD (slightly lower gearing than 5th/OD on auto hence worse hwy mpg).

So with that said, I can understand a little difference being felt while towing but not that autos are beasts and sticks are dogs... towing with a stick is of course harder - especially in the mountains when you have to go uphill from a stop - and I think that's all there's to it

I think everyone has lost there minds! We are talking about only 2500 lbs! My 91 pickup with 115 hp would haul that without breaking a sweat! I think all your fuckin trucks are broken! The 1GR has enough torque at idle to haul it.:annoyed:

I believe the 4cyl come with 4.10...and maybe V6 the manuals but not positive and too lazy to search.

I’ve towed my rzr on a flatbed fully loaded with camping gear and firewood across mostly flat land no problem. It’s not going to be pulling a big ass toy hauler up a 10% grade at 80mph but if you bought a Tacoma to tow that kinda shit you probably shouldn’t be the one making major financial decisions for your family. :notsure:

Supercharger! That should help especially at that altitude

So I have 2015 Tacoma 4.0 6 speed manual with 255/70R17s (in the pic 265/70R17s) and tow a B2920 with and without a bucket fairly regularly and it tows it just fine. Its no rocket by any means, and yes its a single axle versus a dual but still its hauling around 3-3500 pounds (plus another 300 in the bed with tools and other lawn equipment). You just have to keep it in the lower gears a little longer and let it rev higher. Starting on hills def sucks but nothing practice helps on. Thing pulls up a 12% grade just fine

Also add I towed a fully loaded 6x12 inclosed uhaul trailer from Michigan to New York for 700 miles. Truck towed it just fine at 65-70mph and averaged 15mpg. So that must have been around 6,000 lbs
