    I had the cart before the horse, sorry. I thought you changed WW fluid and then saw the spots. If you had been using the same WWF for years and it finally caught up to your paint I would expect a bigger more diffuse pattern.

    Is there anything on the hood to go with the road spray idea?

    If not, maybe direct windshield washer fluid on the roof and then left out in the sun? All those little droplet lenses right on the paint for several hours might do it. My last truck was a column shift, going for park on the Tacoma column squirts washer fluid for me.

    I'd take it to a paint guy to see what they think. I don't wet sand either, too easy to screw it up.

    Living down wind of coal fired power plants I've seen the same paint damage for years; called acid rain.
