I thought you were going to say that your grandma was sleeping in the engine bay of the car when you were visiting her in chicago and you found her after starting the car that night. Good thing I finished reading the paragraph.

Hope kitty is OK. When my dad would be on call @ the hospital in the winter, he'd have to beat on the hood of his truck to get the cat out before starting it. Otherwise the cat would bounce around and knock the belts off. '81 Chevy V6 and never lost a cat.

I hate to hear that. Its obvious from reading the replies which ones on here are animal lovers and which ones aren't.

My wife and I have two dogs and a cat and they are our children (no human kids yet)... If this happened to me the last thing I would be worried about is my truck/engine/fan etc, they can be repaired.

I hope that ya'll find the cat soon and give it some medical attention (if needed) and if not, I hope (s)he finds their way home soon.

Sucks man, sorry to about that. I have good story about cats in engine bays to cheer this thread up a little bit.

I drove 30 miles to work, stopped for about 5 minutes on interstate 99 due to an accident. When I got to work and turned off my truck I could hear a familiar meow. At first I thought my cat was in my cab somewhere but I found her in the engine bay right below the driver's side headlight. I called my wife at home and told her the story, she was in shock. Had to keep our cat at work for about half the day until she could come out and get her. She definetely used one of her 9 lives that day.

Glad she's ok! Now just tattoo a set of Toyota horns on that bald patch and she's good to go.

Dman man, sorry to see that.

If it took her fur off there, she might have cracked ribs :(
Cats are pretty damn resilient though.
