I Bought this Taco brand spakin' new over 5 years ago. I know its beat to s%t now but its been everywhere, through the woods, up and down big mountains, in the trails, at least a dozen or so cross country trips. Taught kids how to drive with it too. It has NEVER EVER once let me down. I had more fun offroading with it and I have no regreets about it whatsoever. All I did was change the oil and filters regularly. Everything STILL works. Thinking about painting it camo.

Thanks guys...I could go on and on about it. towed trailers filled with construction equipment and gangboxes full of tools that weighed more than her along with quads, and boats. Never a problem. Keeping all of her battle scars no new skins and going with a camo paint, camo seatcovers, and a lift kit. cant wait!

I have no idea odometers been stuck at 89k for over a couple of years now. Estimate of 300k ? Engine still runs real strong though.

Lets see... when the truck was about less than a year old, I was stopped at a traffic light and a DHL delivery truck plowed into the back of me, needed a whole new bed, it actually should have been totalled, but it wasnt, so that was fixed, but never really fixed right if you know what I mean, the paint is never as good, and i think they used substandard aftermarket parts, so it seemed to scratch and ding real easily on the tailgate and two rear quarters. Never had the time to go back and complain. Got hung up on a boulder up in Maine last summer while on the trail, thats how the damage to the right rear quarter happened. Had crappy tires first snow this winter and landed in a guardrail. just dusted myself off and got back on the road. I live near the ocean so the salt air didnt help either, and backing the trailer into the salt water at the boat ramp didnt help the once shiny crhome bumper which I think was aftermarket as well. Everything else was just plain old having fun with an old paid for truck. My daughter tatooed my name on the ruined hood.

holy hell! i just looked through your gallery and that is one beat up truck! that just shows how reliable these trucks are, i think toyota should give you a brand new truck and showcase your current one for all the other truck companies to stare at in amazement and wish they could last like this one:cool:

Nothing personal, but if my truck looks that bad in 5 more years I'll cry. A LOT. :D

You got your money's worth, for sure, but that is probably the most hard-ridden looking 2nd gen I've ever seen.

So yeah - how many miles??

I'd like a new Taco. I have a new truck but I hate driving it, its sits in the garage for weeks at a time. its too big. Needed it for towing the 24ft enclosed trailer. Not a Toyota though :-(
