Soo, I have a 2014 tacoma SR5 4x4 long bed. I've done a couple things to it, such as adding a K&N 77 series intake. As well as a flowmaster series exhaust. My tacoma kicks now which is nice but it still lags. And idk if thats the right terminology but when I put my foot down its takes a minute before the truck responds. I was told that a bigger performance throttle body could fix this problem. Does anybody know if thats true or if not that, what else could work ?

Sounds like you need a pedal commander or HP tuner

Sounds like you have an oiled K&N Intake. I recommend cleaning the MAF sensor with CRC MAF sensor cleaner. May take away some of that "lag" if the sensor is dirty. Dry filters are recommended for these trucks

If it's just city driving put the gear shift in 4th.

I'd definitely start with this before going any other route! If it isn't your issue than yea maybe a tune or other option!

Poor performance on throttle tip-in... I think it's just inherent in the stock configuration. You won't get drag race launches out of these trucks, not with an automatic transmission. The drive-by-wire software is very conservative, meaning it doesn't open the throttle valve as much as your right foot is requesting, until you get to WOT inputs. And I agree the pedal commander is your best bet for a more responsive throttle. Not sure about the oiled filter effects, but I'm thinking it can't be good. Use a standard air filter or at least something that is not oiled.
