Well, meter box, temp outlets and wire is set in the trench. Inspection Monday then meter release then power when the power company gets a chance.

Trucking some water then might think about finishing some septic.

Haha, well my suspicions seem to be confirmed. Septic engineering was merely a stamp, her design and dimensions are junk.

Just was told that many of her "designed" systems froze over the winter due to the goofy drain back designs.

But I've been working with a few of the only dimensions that were actually on the plans and I'll have to make some modifications to make it work. Some before i call an inspection and some after it gets approved because the issues were brought up to her and they were ignored.

    :annoyed:

Live and learn but at least i found the problem before it was all backfilled.

Well I got started on the floor plan before I got sidetracked and started researching a new rig. :D

    Its the small victories...

Electrical inspection of meter and underground, check. Meter release done and they'll pop that baby in tomorrow.

Septic is ready for the pre-cover inspections, hopefully will go off without a hitch and I can get them filled in and onto the final inspection/pump fire up. :bananadance: $20k invested and finally seeing progress!

Radars activated for a 2014/15 Silverado. Main reason is to buy something vs lease so i can build it out. Zero interest in purchasing the tundra.

Was hoping to find one with 3.73 gearing but nobody sells those. So the 3.42 with the 5.3 will tow 9k. Double cab so i can get the 6.5ft bed which is one of the annoyances right now having 5.5ft. Build it for work and for future travel rig to haul around a slide in/pop up. Keeping an eye out for an older one of those as well so i can have yet another project of modifying and building it to fit my needs.

Remodeling / updating an old FWC is something I’ve always wanted to do - problem is the work needed to fit the camper in a Toyota. Best of luck in your search for the next horse!

Yeah it's another reason i need a 6ft bed. 8ft would be better but i don't want a long bus. The double cab Silverado with regular bed is 1" longer than the tundra which is a good size.

Naturally i made sure that king/fox make replacement suspension. Just need to figure out how to balance the air bags for towing /hauling with that.

Building update.. Two inspections mid week, neither fucker decided to let me know how they went so i can move forward. And no response when i reach out.

Guess it's back to the old saying.. Those who can, build. Those who can't, inspect.

Were you not there at the time of inspection? Did they not leave either a correction letter or approval?

I was not there.. And no they didn't even though they said they would.

The timeframes they give are... "We'll be there this day" which i, not anyone else has time for that crap.

Yup.. Close second are engineers who make things work in imaginary land that don't work in the real world. Like my septic I'll be modifying after its inspected to keep it from draining the full field back to the tank as soon as the (unnecessarily added pump) shuts off.

Not saying all.. Just the ones who are set in their ways with no understanding of the real world. I have engineering past as well.

So aggravating... I go to the county building since the idiots won't answer the phone. LSS... Inspector failed the PRE FILL inspection because there isn't gravel on top of the leach field lines. Hey retard, how are you going to verify that the lines are sitting level if they are covered by gravel?! Makes it slightly hard to get a level on there. :frusty:

How do these people survive this long. You should've been Darwin'ed off by now.

I was able to snag a 450 gallon tank so that'll be for fresh water for camper. Unless i just finish the septic, and sell the lot so i don't have to deal with idiots and go back to traveling! :D

Engineer said the PRE FILL inspection was good to go last week...and sent approval to the county. Unfortunately that doesn't trump stupid.

    Haha

It's now been a week since my inspection was apparently failed because the inspector is an idiot. And yet to have any confirmation of that other than the inspector texting a half ass thing to the Secretary.

Not going to do something that's against what this inspection actually calls for without it in writing. My luck then the next inspector will have a brain, see burying it is against this inspection and will make me dig it back up.

Not gonna lie... Went to look at a house for sale, but it's already pending. Not dealing with the building department is very tempting vs another year that should be six months
