My Tacoma's brakes went out, followed by rapid acceleration...

Well guys, maybe our Tacomas aren't invincible to all of this recall action going. :(

Earlier this afternoon, coming back from a work meeting I decided to galavant away from the office by taking my truck for a short cruise. I jumped on the freeway (the AZ-51 for those in Arizona) and off I went. Just cruising nothing crazy. After about 5 minutes or so, the truck starting thrusting back and forth awkwardly whether I was on the gas or not. I freaked out.

But, I regained my calm after moving all the way over to the right side hazard lane. I didn't stop as I figured the fuel pump was just acting up. So I kept rolling in the hazard lane, probably around 45 mph. A few miles later, no issues, so I decide to run with the other vehicles up to 70 mph. And that's when the "Fit hit the Shan".

It was time to casually head back to the office, and while en route to the light at the top of the off-ramp, I realized I had zip, zilch, nada, zero brakes. Gone. Honestly, I pee'd in my pants as approaching a red light at over 50 mph is not a favorite past time of mine. It'd didn't dawn on me to use the E-brake until after the light was green and I wanna-be power slid my way through the right hand turn.

Just when I started to relax, thinking I'd just coast to an eventual stop.. the truck began violently surging in acceleration without any input from my foot. This time, I was about to say FUCK IT and do a barrel roll into the street and kiss the truck goodbye into a wall where noone could be harmed. Awkwardly right when I unlocked the door to escape, I received a call from my mom. And what beautiful insight did she have for me? She said, "you're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air". I whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said "fresh" and had dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cab was rare, but I thought nah, forget it, yo homes to Bel-Air! I pulled up to a house about seven or eight and yelled to the cabby, "Yo, homes smell you later!" Looked at my kingdom I was finally there, to sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-Air.
