child 2: you threw my mats on the ground!?!? I'm gonna mess up your car now with my truck!!

seriously, did you think slamming your door into his car WASN'T going to mess up your truck? if so I got some oceanfront property in Arizona I'll sell ya for half price.

I would call you an asshole but I've punched out 3 windshields, kicked in a truck door, and smashed a quater panel. So we are both assholes. I've also smashed a couple of cell phones, punched holes in the walls. You need to control that temper OR BREAK OTHER PEOPLES STUFF. :D

I'll be honest. I think you're both dumb. Sure he was disrespectful for throwing the mat on the ground, but to get really pissed and start arguing/fighting over it?!? And then to attempt to vandalize his new vehicle by using your's as the weapon...
Grow some balls, be the bigger man, pick the mat up and put it back in the truck. Lock the truck and tell him to stay away from your shit if he can't respect it. If something this miniscule got you this worked up I'd hate to see you when something actually bad happens. I'm just glad you're in Florida. That way when you ram a school bus because one of the kids stuck their tongue out at you I won't be anywhere near it to become collateral damage.

    Remember Nelson from The Simpson's?

I'm doing that to you right now: Ha ha!

Really, your mature response to him putting your mats outside is to slam your door into his? WTF? Big deal! Why'd he throw them on the ground? Does it really matter, it's not they get dirty from just lying on the ground. I mean, yeah, he's being immature too, but you're stupid.

I feel like we are missing part of the story. Why would the guy throw mats on the ground for no reason? I really don't get that part. Where they in the truck and he took them out?

To the OP, you both are obviously 'young' and have some growing up to do, but in as much as you have admitted the mistake and came here for suggestions, mine would be to hire the dentless dude and have it done as 'right' as possible.

The financial kick in the shorts will be a reminder of the consequences to being rash, and help to make it a more lasting lesson learned.

I would also re-assess the 'friends' you hang with, as you have more control over your actions in the future, than you do theirs.

Tell us again how this person you don't get along with got invited to your place?

It was a dick move to even take them outta your truck let alone toss them on the ground. But, guessing they're rubber or plastic I'm guessing they would have cleaned easy.

I'd a been pissed too but, would have told him to take a hike.

He's just been a real dick lately, so i asked his opinion on the mats trying to make peace with him, thats why i invited him over. I asked his opinion to see if he liked them, maybe we could find common talking grounds. He moved them around a little to see how they fit, then just threw them on the ground went inside.

    Nothing more nothing less.

I told him for 5 minutes come pick my shit back up or im gonna ram my door into his mirror.

I won't comment on who was the dumb ass and who was the idiot etc..,

But, I would say check your local yellow pages (or google) and find a paintless dent repair shop. I had a few small dents in my doors from careless people parking next to me over the years. The local paintless dent repair guy came out to my office and fixed it right there in the parking lot, and did a great job. The rates were very reasonable also - $60 for one dent, and then up from there. I had 3 dents and some waving on the rear door from someone closing the door with her butt. He fixed everything for $120. Easy, cheap fix.
