Firestone load compensators with on-board compressor,
    Hello TW,

My handle is Macadotious and I'm a Tacomaholic. Had a 1st gen and am now on my second 2nd gen. The first two were leases so no mods (except for damage) and I tried to toe the line of what they could do. As many of you know, these are impressive vehicles. The third one I bought new and am personalizing it. Much to my chagrin, this is both a personal and a work vehicle (my watershaping and landscaping business). I wish it were a play toy--but then I wouldn't want a double cab.

Anyway, off the bat I installed Firestone Ride Rite load compensators and the on-board compressor. These things are so sweet! Just hauled 1500# of gravel 50 miles on the highway and it was the smoothest ride ever. I know, I'm over the the load capacity, but this is where my previous lease knowledge comes in handy! No worries! Still got over 17 mpg!

All that aside, I wanted to introduce myself and let you know I don't get to do as much wheelin as I'd like, but I find plenty of other creative ways to "test the limits" of these bad-ass trucks.

Also I'd like to thank the members of this forum as I have done a lot of research here before becoming a member. Thanks!

Welcome to TW. I thought about installing something like those load compensators. Nice to hear they work well.

Hola... I am also on #3 ('01, '05,'10).. all three Off Road TRD 4WDs, the first was an extra cab and the next two were double cabs.

#1: 136,000+ miles in 5 years, no problems, perfect truck... amazing.
#2: 102,000+ miles in 4.5 years, soft suspension, brake problems, and wire harness failure causing air bag light to activate, but no brakedowns... still a darn good truck.
#3: 17,000+ miles so far, 10 months old... Tranny drip soon after getting, fixed... otherwise outstanding with no suspension issues and this fantastic traction control system now... just loving my '10!
