No. You probably have a locating function issue. Give it more time and if that won't work manually program the sensors or install new ones.

Note typical battery life for TPMS sensors is about 7 years, but all four wouldn't die at the same time.

If you only have one bad/dead and or missing TPMS sensor does it stop you from being able to see the tire pressures on the wheels that do have good sensors attached to them?

All tires just show dashes. After I reset it, about 20 minutes down the highway the warning light flashed about five times then stayed on. I stopped and ran a scan just in case it was something else, but no codes. I reset the system and the light went off but the dashes remained as I drove about an hour home.

You were right, started working when I drove into work this morning. Pressures are not accurate as usual but I guess that’s “normal”

Sounds like sensors are either dead or programming needs reflashed

No. The remaining three should show pressures.

Now I don't know who has the right info. I know every car is different but I'm wondering what the case is on 3rd gen Tacomas.

I don’t think this is correct.
I’m pretty sure that if a single sensor is missing, dead or otherwise not reading, the display will not show the pressures of the other three. Dashes all around

Via evidence that's correct. If one has an issue the truck will know the pressure reported by the other three but none will be displayed on the dash.

The 7 year reference is mentioned on every tpms thread. However, 2nd gen (and other forums) threads have numerous examples of tpms batteries going strong after 13 + years.
