Pretty sure that’s fake news. There is no way a shark was found in Deep Creek.

Google for the win!! The one that’s really got me twisted is an 8 foot shark caught in Kentucky?

    According to Wikipedia...

The bull sharkis known for its aggressive nature, andpresence in warm, shallow brackish and freshwatersystems including estuaries and rivers. ... They have been known to travel up the Mississippi Riveras far as Alton, Illinois, about 700 miles (1100 km) from the ocean.

Though bull sharks have been known to ascend the Mississippi River from the Gulf of Mexico as far as St. Louis, Willink says the number of locks and dams as well as the electric barrier on the Illinois River would make it next to impossible for even a bull shark to enter the Great Lakes.Aug 12, 2014

    https://www.sheddaquarium.org

So bull sharks like to wander around in freshwater. Even been seen 2000 miles up the Amazon river. There was Was also a shark attack in Lake Pontchartrain in Louisiana in 2014 when a kid got his foot bit by a smaller bull shark. But that lake is attached by a channel to the ocean and bull sharks are spotted in there frequently.

As far as deep creek, other than the google answer and one very unofficial website, I can’t find any evidence that that is a real story. And the Kentucky shark is a confirmed fake story.

You should come down to Kentucky and look for sharks anyway. It's pretty nice down here sharks, or no sharks.

@markus30 Check out Capitol Reef and the Cathedral Rocks, and the Waterpocket Fold on the way to Bryce and Zion. Well worth a solid day for each. You could make Waterpocket Fold (I forget the road name) part of your through route. Backcountry Byways in Utah are awesome.

Thanks man! I was stationed in nc for 2 years and never had the good sense to explore anything but the local bars. I’ll certainly hit you know when we swing through!
