I've tried them all, the hard map is difficult because of the shorter paths but because there are more guys, you get a lot more money. I got through all 50 levels and only let 4 get by me. I found that setting the towers to aim at the weakest enemy makes a difference with the groups. The group as a whole can take a lot of damage so the whole lot of them can get by a cannon and only take a little damage each but if all your cannons are aimed at one guy, they get picked off one by one. Those sniper towers are nasty when fully upgraded with plenty of cripple towers near them.

^^ This. Don't waste your time with the gray or orange cannons. Those red and purple ones will do the job. The purple ones have reach to set them in a place where the enemey has to go by them multiple times and put cripple cannons around them to slow the enemy down. The upgraded purple cannons will do a lot of damage. Put the red cannons next to sap towers and on inside corners or turn arounds. They don't have a lot of reach so you need to put them on corners.

Medium is too easy in my opinion because of the tight loops. I went through the hole thing on medium, only let one guy through but only once did any of the guys get out of the first loop. All I did was put a couple sniper towers in the middle of the first loop with cripple towers around them and they cleaned house. It would be a lot harder if the loops were larger so you couldn't just park one tower in the middle of the loop. Maybe add another level, beginner, easy, medium and hard?

Hard is a bitch with the short paths. You really have to think about where you put the cripple and sap towers and how you program them otherwise the fast guys get through the short path too quickly.
