Welcome to Tacoma World! I really like both of your trucks and your RC & die cast truck collection as well. Is there a difference in the interior dimensions of the flare side truck bed and the standard truck bed on 1st generation Tacomas?

This 1:18 scale 78 Dodge is really cool too! Check out the working lights! Whoever sold me this little rig did a great job with the modifications!

I had a 2001 24V 4x4 exactly like this one (sorry no pics handy) and I can tell you Dodge hit a homerun with this truck. It was awesome at towing, hauling, and still had a smooth ride. It was in perfect condition like this pic. I owned it from about 2010-2017. Sold with 175,000 miles and almost no maintenance parts needed.

I used it to pull many things, but usually my Kubota tractor on an 18" trailer. I towed up to about 10,000lbs.
I sold it to a friend and he uses it to pull a mid sized excavator on a gooseneck trailer, total weight 13,000. No problem.

 

My Taco hasn't been driven since the end of December. I start the engine 2 or 3 times a month and it fires right up every time. I probably won't get a charger because I'm gonna order the rear bumper soon! I'm so excited about driving my Taco again!

 

They are awesome trucks! I've loved them since I was a little kid! I need to look for the old picture of my sister and I with a blue one at my grandma's house. I think my uncle's friend had it for sale. Here's more pics of mine! Purdy Face looks way better without the big bed cap, so I'm gonna replace it with a cover.

 

Hey everyone I finally ordered my bumper! I'm gonna paint it black. Any suggestions on what kind of paint or coating I should use?

 

My dad thinks bedliner spray would be good. I probably will use the professional grade paint from the automotive section in walmart. I have some left from a diecast truck I painted. It turned out pretty good so I'll get pics sometime!

My Taco has a fairly new exhaust, but it ain't loud enough for me. @GQ7227 how do you like your borla cat back? If anyone else has aftermarket exhaust that's kinda loud, or headers, please tell me what you think of them! Thanks!

 

the Borla system is very quiet at idle & near like stock, I'm not very sure how it is above 3k RPM
all in all, if you are looking for something to wake up your neighbors the Borla is probably not gonna do it!
my dog cannot even hear my truck anymore like she used to with the old one

 

Thanks, that's good to know. I would love to wake up my neighbors, especially the guy who mows his lawn too much and the ones that burn weeds and grass close to our house!

 

Taco Lover, you're truck looks awesome in red. My search for an aftermarket bumper for the rear or even a stock replacement has been nothing but grief, so I'm real interested to see how yours turns out. That Allpro looks great, but Kwikvette has some valid points on the fit. I was thinking bedliner too. Looking forward to the pics

The check engine light with little light of mine had me chuckling

 

@Flare side Taco Lover would you be interested in selling the end pieces from your stock bumper?
