Derek the Taco now has 287,100 miles. I drove him to the national forest again today and had a good time. Purdy Face the Dodge just hit 45,700. I took him to the car wash for the first time and then I got him home and noticed a bunch of loose rust in the front of the frame where it's boxed in! I took him back to the wash and sprayed the inside of the frame and a ton of rust flakes came out. Then I took him home and dried the inside of the frame the best I could. Then I painted the tires and shined them up. Then I put Chemical Guys wax all over him including the inside of the bed! He's an awesome rig despite his issues. I had been putting 87 octane in him and 89 once in a while but my dad told me to try 93 because of the lack of power and engine noises when going up hills. I fed him $74 of 93 today and there was still a little chattering but I think I just need to drive him more. Here's a few recent pics. I had to get the undercarriage too even though it still needs a little cleaning up.IMG_1942.jpg IMG_1943.jpg IMG_1944.jpg IMG_1945.jpg IMG_1946.jpg IMG_1947.jpg IMG_1948.jpg IMG_1949.jpg

Thanks! I might paint the Taco's tires too but it's very time consuming!

IMG_1492.jpg IMG_1489.jpgThis is one of my newest diecast trucks and the reason why I'm now obsessed with Datsun pickups! I found this blue one for sale online. It's out of state and out of my price range but what a looker!1978-datsun-620.jpg 1978-datsun-620 (1).jpg 1978-datsun-620 (2).jpg

Paradise is dead. I think it's the starter cuz he has a new battery. And to top it off, his rear end is leaking. My dad suggested putting a diaper on it haha!20210614_004900.jpg

Paradise ain't dead after all! I did a lot of research and some people said their Rangers would only start in neutral, so I tried that and he fired right up! He's been starting just fine in park ever since so I think he wasn't in park all the way that one time. He is really hard to put in gear sometimes, but a real joy to drive despite the loud belt squeal lol. Oh yeah and I have a son now so I'll be posting lots of baby pictures soon!

Here's my little boy! He's only about two and a half months old! He doesn't have a name yet, but I've been trying to think of a good truck related name!18.jpg 17.jpg 16.jpg 15.jpg 14.jpg 13.jpg 12.jpg 11.jpg 10.jpg 9.jpg 8.jpg 7.jpg 6.jpg 5.jpg 4.jpg 3.jpg 2.jpg 1.jpgIf you're wondering why there's a tarp on Derek, well I haven't got around to getting a carport yet and just hate to see him sitting out in the rain! Even got one on Paradise. The neighbors think I'm crazy but oh yeah I am!

I rounded up all the trucks and got pictures of the herd! I recently gave Purdy Face angry eyes even though my parents tried real hard to talk me out of it! Derek got a little muddy yesterday so I'll be giving him a bath soon. I think I'm gonna paint Paradise soon. I'm still wanting neon green and maybe a little purple somewhere. I've never painted a whole truck before so I'm pretty excited!IMG_2690.jpg IMG_2691.jpg IMG_2689.jpg IMG_2688.jpg IMG_2685.jpg IMG_2686.jpg IMG_2682.jpg

I named my son Riley after Riley Green, the singer of my favorite song, "If It Wasn't For Trucks". The other day, my sister and I decided to take him to visit my other sister who works at Tractor Supply. He hopped up in the backseat of my Taco and did very well on the ride. I walked him on a leash into the store and my sister was very surprised. All her coworkers and a few customers were happy to meet him. He didn't really want to leave, so I had to pick him up and put him back in my Taco. We were almost home when he took a crap and piss on one of my seats and of course it was the one that the seat cover came off of, but I didn't care! I ended up cutting out the seat with hoof trimmers and now my Taco doesn't stink anymore. I don't really need rear seats anyway cuz I don't want human kids lol! Here's a picture of Green Riley!20210712_005231.jpg

I finally started getting Paradise ready for paint! He was a fleet vehicle his whole life before I adopted him and I'd say he's seen better days. I was expecting to see nothing but rust when I pulled off the fender flares but surprisingly, just one real bad spot! My Taco was actually worse! I used my dad's hand saw to cut off most of the rust. Then I had to hammer and sand it a bit cuz it was sharp. It ain't pretty but I ain't care! Then I found the electric sander and my dad showed me how to use it. I really enjoyed it and I felt like a pro haha! Kinda makes me wanna work in a body shop! I sanded the whole body except for the inside of the bed. I don't even wanna know what it looks like under the bed liner but maybe I'll be brave enough to pull it out some day! Now my pos Paradise project is almost ready for primer! Oh yea and when I had him in the garage I noticed red liquid under the rig. Derek leaks power steering fluid, Purdy Face leaks oil, and my sister thinks Paradise is leaking transmission fluid. I took pictures of it sorry I know it's TMI!IMG_2863.jpg IMG_2864.jpg IMG_2866.jpg IMG_2867.jpg IMG_2869.jpg IMG_2870.jpg IMG_2871.jpg IMG_2872.jpg IMG_2873.jpg
