    And when the tranny finally takes a dump, Toyota will void warranty saying strain from larger tires caused tranny problems

    Yep. And if you do swap wheels, swap them back before going to the dealer. Of course that means you have to stack and store them for years.

    I doubt they can legitimately claim that, maybe a lift with 33-35" tires sure but going to something that fits on stock suspension like the c rated ko2s is only a 40lb increase in weight.

    I don't believe it has anything to do with the trim level.

    Ah, you're right. The locking rear end in the ORs comes with the larger 8.8" rear end. I mistakenly assumed they all had the 4.30 gearing.

    Looks like you lucked out, glad to hear everything is good for you. 6th gear 2000 RPM and you have no high frequency vibration in the steering wheel as you apply the gas? Mine feels like I'm holding a vibrating cell phone at that RPM, jesus.

    Yes. I was mistaken. Your auto OR has the 3.90 gearing. The auto OR shares the larger rear end housing (8.8" instead of 8") with the manual Tacomas, but does NOT share the lower gearing.

    @smitty99

    I have the 2.7 with the 6 speed auto and have the same symptoms. Dealer found it 1qt low and filled her up, no difference.

    I almost want to drain fluid out of it and let it melt. Dealer will rebuild it lol.
