Finally got around to listing my truck for sale. What do you guys think of the pics, price etc?? Opinions? I'd like to sell it, but I don't need to sell it tomorrow morning you know. Just listed it last night. Based my price off of KBB.com and what a local wholesaler wanted to give me for the truck out right; $25k. If I get sales tax on top of that I'll be ok (6%+$50).... roughly $27k.

Few reasons. Construction in FL is pretty slow, so I rather be in a more efficient paid off vehicle with money in the bank for peace of mind. If I got into a car like that, I can start paying my house off rather than throwing money at a truck which is an asset that will go down in value unlike a home (we bought in today's market). So in all, it's a paid off/equity/slow economy issue/live within your means that's making me sell it. Not to mention all the taxes and energy legislation that's heading our way and inflation. WAY to many things heading down the pipe and lurking for me to keep a $33k truck. I can afford it, but rather error on the safe side with finances. I'd keep it if the Gooberment would give me a check.. but I still haven't seen one. They must not have my new address. But they know where to take money out of my check; Fo'Sho.

I paid $27,300 OTD for my 2009 DC TRDsport with tow package. It was at a time when Yota was offering a $1,500 rebate and I beat my dealer up to get that price.

Whats going on with your grill (looks like it's wrinkled)?

Ad looks great! Good luck with the sale.

Fia Bug Screen. It snaps right off. Keeps the radiator looking new. Well, I looked at over half dozen dealers and nobody had a TRD Off-Road on the lot. The gay sales guys kept telling me the TRD Sport has a LSD which is the same thing. Really?? a LSD VS a Elocker are the same, sure... Every dealer had a few TRD Sports. So I had to custom order my truck and wait like 5 weeks to get it. Down here I rarely see a TRD OR, and I'm under what I paid, and well under Sticker MSRP. All I can do is hope for the best.

totally understand, i was too in danger of being laid off thanks to the economy in florida especially. good luck with the sale but im afraid that 25k might be your only option, hopefully not.

I know... I'm gonna give it a few weeks and maybe go back and take the $25k and get a honda off his lot, or a used Acura TSX. I don't want that opportunity to pass by if I'm not getting any calls within a week. Maybe I should just say EFF it and change the price to $26,999 by sunday night....

Well, that is $1500 more than I paid for my '09 (brand new with 4 miles on the ODO) with the same setup including the tow package. (Mine also had DRL, Allweather mats, 6-disc cd).

Do you have a Car Max around there? I have heard that sometimes with low milage, new vehicles they will give the around the kbb trade-in value, which for your truck is probably more than you paid for it and certainly more than any person would buy it for.

I've read a couple stories with proof of people selling them new cars right after they bought them and making a couple thousand.

Also everywhere I have lived you absolutely do not collect the sales tax when someone privately buys a vehicle from you. They go to the DMV and pay the sales tax when they apply for title and tags. They won't get the title or tags unless they pay the tax.

I tried carmax. Gave me a real low # b/c they really didn't want it.... they only had 3 truck overall on their lot. Dude even told me.... we're slowing down how many trucks/SUV's we buy and building in a "safety" for the market on these kinds of vehicles. Best deal I've gotten was the $25k from the one local wholesaler.

Ad looks good but, tbh I'd probably retake the pics with the bug screen off, leave one in to show you have it. Honestly, I didn't know what it was either and it'd have turned me off...

Not a horrible price, I'm looking at the same truck brand new and OTD I'm seeing $27,250. The current rebate for new trucks will mess with you until its gone.

Exactly... what makes you think that you can collect the tax and then spend it?

o.0 I'm like 99% positive we don't pay tax on used sales in AZ, at all. When the vehicle was initially sold, it was taxed...

It's not a 'sales tax' here it is a property tax or 'sales an use' tax that you pay when you buy the car and then again yearly (on the current 'value' of the car).

You don't even pay sales tax on a brand new car here, just the sales and use tax which is 3%.

It's a little different in every state, and like you said some states don't have a "sales tax" on a used car purchase. The thing about it though is that unless he has established his own sovereign nation and imposed a sales tax he isn't gonna get the money :p

Yeah... I'll re-do the pic with the bug screen off. You'd be supprised what that thing catches on a hwy trip! Just used a double stick tape stud. 15 minutes and a can of Goo-Gone and you'll never know it was there. I'm probably going to drop the price a bit this weekend. $26k would be ok with me.
