My Truck Came in!!! But it's Wrong

Ordered a quicksand, DC, SB, Manual OR back at beginning of april with premium and tech. Dealer called me tonight that the truck was in- I went out to see it- No premium and Tech! According to the dealer, toyota didn't fill the order correctly. So, I can order another one, with no guarantee it will be built the way I want, or re-start my search. So heartbroken.

That sucks. Call around you might have to travel a little to find what you are looking for.

 

Use Cars.com or something similar and expand your search. Your dealer is wasting your time.

 

Sounds like you're dealing with a dealer that isn't very motivated. I'd take my business elsewhere

 

Who is the dealer/what city? Did you notice if it had the tow package? Thus is basically the exact truck I was considering ordering...I only wanted tow package, not premium & tech.

At any rate, were it me, I'd wait and see if I could get the dealer to throw in some goodies for my hassle. Maybe a no charge extended warranty? TRD skid? Something. If they don't want to do that, move to the next dealer.

If you had your heart set on that moon roof, and buy one without it, you'll never be completely happy with the truck.

 

Your truck was built by Toyota. Dealers trade vehicles with other dealers all the time. Your Truck is probably in someones driveway right now. The dealer then tried to sell you a Truck with less features then you wanted. And of course blames the manufacturer. I recommend dealing with another salesman or another dealer all together.

 

Toyota dealers are a dime-a-dozen here, there are at least half-a dozen, maybe more in a 50 mile radius...

One reason I purchase off the lot rather than ordering.

 

Maybe see if they would throw some extras in for the hassle. If not, you could start over, which might be a pain...

I had to sign off on mine before it was submitted just for this reason.

When you ordered it, you should have got paperwork with your check list of the truck you built?
Also, when it was being built, they should have gave you the VIN number. Was the VIN the same as the truck they were showing you on the lot that they were telling you was the one you ordered?

 

I looked for 6 months never found one.I ordered mine and waited 3 months worth the wait

 

Getting the vehicle you want in the colour you want is worth it.

 

I built mine to spec and waited 7 weeks back in Aug '16 when I ordered it. Came out exactly what I ordered

 

The dealer is playing games. When properly ordered, it gets built EXACTLY as spec'd. The dealer would've known for weeks what was coming in. Your idiot salesman is the one who blew it. You need to switch dealers.
