May have been mentioned, but make sure you spray the new rotors down with brake clean and wipe them good. Most new rotors and drums are coated with an anti rust coating for when they are sitting on the shelf. If you don't clean this off then it can contaminate your new brake pads.

    Cheers

One trick we used whfen i was a 3rd gen 4runner owner was using early tundra brakes. The have ventilated discs, and dont warp due to heat stress, on my mobile now but its listed on 4runner.org forums in the 3rd gen bracket.

imho the stock rotors are junk as soon as you turn them. The first time i had my oem's turned they didn't last very long after that. I use powerslot rotors and good ceramic pads and have loved them ever since. One thing to note. I changed out my oem rotors about a year after i bought the truck new and just recently replaced my rotors last year but the new powerslots dont look to be as beefy as the ones i had initially purchased. This is my work truck so it gets used alot.

no i have my brother cut them for me at his shop and i always tell him to just barely touch them. Had the powerslots cut several times for years before i finally fell below the min thickness. No pulsation at all with the powerslots. the oems would have to be cut bout every 5000 miles after you first cut them. the powerslots are good to go until the pads go and then i would have them cut anyways just to seat fresh pad to fresh rotor surface.
