Remote start is cheap these days & many aftermarket alarms have the feature.

I have a Clarion remote start (DEI same makers of the Viper). If a theif does get into the truck it will shut off as soon as the brake is pressed without a key in the ignition. Also only runs for a period of time, whatever you set it too.

Yup mine too but that's only when the key is not in the ON position. With the key ON/engine running the doors can be locked.

and that's the messed up part. technically i should be able to leave the windows open with the keys in it at the mall and it's no less illegal for someone to jump in and drive away. i imagine insurance fraud has shaped this policy just as it has all others.

    Well, I guess no pics.

I'm still a little skeptical since we really don't know you all that well on here, and you don't have many postings.
Sometimes people like to make up stories to get attention.

But if this did happen to ya, I hope the best for you with the insurance, and I hope these knuckleheads go to jail for awhile.

I wish I could beat the living hell out of the guy. My ambulance partner took a few pics and sent them to me.

Is there a way to post pics from an iPhone? If not I'll get em' up later.

Sounds like truck was half submerged in a drainage ditch. Water was filled into drivers side and throughout floorboard of pass side.

It was funny cause I work at AMR the ambulance company here. I called my dispatch and said I won't be coming in... She called me right back and said they had my truck out for reckless driving and in a ditch. My partner who I work with at AMR got the call for the thief, he had a cut hand. Thief ended up transported by PD tho'.

I'll work on some posts and see if I can get the pics up. They're really not that good. Flashlighted iPhone pics.

Insurance called back. Says I'm covered. Now I wait to see what the adjuster says. Think they will total it?

That BLOWS! I was just at the Brush Prairie Tavern last night. Hope it all works out for you in the end.

That would have sucked if you would have had to transport the prick.

Yes, they will absolutely total it. Especially if water was fairly high in the cab.

painted door handles, bilstein 5100's front and back, K&N air filter. Precision power component speakers and Kenwood deck.

Id almost say this was setup intentionally if the guy didnt get caught. Sounded that way in the beginning.

I think what grinds my gears the most is that the most he's probably gonna get is jail time and then out in less than 20. Probably doesnt have any $$ to pay up.

Umm the guy did get caught. I could care less if you believe me or not. And I do have pictures. Exactly like I said I did.

If they total it I will more than likely be looking into getting a 2nd gen DC 4x4
