My truck won't start...help!

i was riding down the road just cruising early and my truck died and won't restart. Any idea? Any pointer?

 

Gas?? Or maybe bad, dirty gas. That happened to me in my civic. Just had refueled driving down the street and died. Pulled the gas hose off before fuel filter and crankeded the engine and bigger than shit brown rusty looking gas came out into a a had cup i had placed. Drained the old gas dont remember how. Changed fuel filter and off she went again.

 

I replace the fuel filter on it every 2 months or so cause it's a older pickup. I'm thinking timing chain.....

Engine light on? What makes you think timing so fast? Have you checked for spark and fuel?

 

Timing chain, alternator, fuel pump my main guess would be alternator died on you

 

fuel pump is totally different from your fuel filter

 

Tire fixed man? What did you run over?

 

Truck is carb. Just put new alternator on 3 weeks ago. Was on way to work when she died. Truck has 222,3xx on it. So I was thing

 

Pretty easy to diagnose if it's getting fuel or not. Check that first.

 

I don't know what it was but it was in between the wall and the tread. It couldn't get repaired. I put my spare on the new rim. I have another spare in my garage for my spare.

So I'm 99% sure it's the timing chain. I haven't looked at it yet. But with new alternator and new fuel filter.

 

you do realize that the fuel filter is NOT the fuel pump

 

Yeah. But just different things makes me think timing chain
