    Hey Alex,
    You know you could always trade with someone who has a base model 2012 Tacoma. Anytime you see one on the street, leave them a note and tell them you'd like to exchange your chrome for their black grill and bumper. It worked once before here in San Diego. I agree it looks better in black. I'm just not a big fan of plasti-dip since it usually requires touch-up and resprays. Wait until you have to start washing it. Anyways, food for thought. Put a thread out there that you'd like to exchange. Good luck and welcome to TW. Congrats on the taco too BTW. :D

    REALLY??? and it sticks to the chrome no problem?? I have always been told chrome is a HUGE pain to paint

    I had no problem with the chrome. Just keep in mind that your first two coats will have about 50 percent transparency and it will look blotchy. But by the 3 and forth everything will come together amazing

    Factory Monster Truck Package with reverse gear.
    looks good but wont last and as soon it gets dirty will never look the same...looks like your going to have to drive around with spare plasti dip...id say get a base grille

    I second this.

    Another reason why I went with the plasti dip is because I tend to get board of things very easily. So for now, I want the black out look but who knows....maybe next year I want to add some chrome...in that case, all I have to do is spend about 5 minutes and peal the plasti dip!
