    So in a serious post.....

both the van and the car now have the little rubber things on the doors. We had a long conversation about the importance of things like this and she says she understands, but truly she has no clue and will forget again. She remembers 15 years ago when I looked at a waitresses ass, but cant seem to remember to not leave her door open in the wind

I am also going to change the parking situation. She will never park in the street, but I will move things around. If that doesent work I will park in the front yard to prove a point

Unfortunately the Van just had the CEL come on, so it will be visiting the shop this week. When it comes back I think some pranks might be in order.

About a year ago she managed to get the hitch on the van stuck on a curb and mangled the wiring harness. Since it doesn't tow anything I never fixed it, but I do have an old horn in the garage that I could easily wire up to a turn signal, or the brakes.

Cover the van in reflective tape and police tape, road cones? The possibilities are endless.

I need to decide how much money and effort I really want to put into this :D

lol it's obvious some of you guys aren't married.

My wife used to be so careful around my toys when we were still dating. Once they became half hers she started being a lot more careless.

I fixed that by giving her the prime garage spot. She can't hit my truck even if she flings the door open as hard as she can. Luckily my garage is fairly large (882 sq feet) so I can place my cars where she can't get them.

So does mine, but that's half the fun...

That's the spirit...good relationships are built when you can take something that pisses you off and make it funny...

Just don't do something that could get her hurt...the horn on turn signal would be funny unless the first time she used it was on the highway.

Your wife requires a thorough psychological evaluation. Her behavior, as you describe it, is not normal and should not be simply characterized as "careless".

Give her running shoes and a bus pass and send her on her way. That's going to be her new transportation.
