.. she knew I am asking this question. Is there a possibility that the automated temp control system could be retrofitted on a 17 SR5 that did mot come with it? Any thoughts are welcome.
    Thanks

Not easily. I started a thread about it a while ago and the consensus was no.

No, major differences in the HVAC unit alone. The controls would be the easy part.

I’d just make it so the display number changes, but the heat level stays the same. That might be easiest. I love my wife, but her definition of hot and cold changes by the minute, so there is not much point to her having control.

Well....on the metric trucks, they gave us 1/2 degree increments, so I found out it is possible for 21.5C to be too hot, and 21.0C to be too cold.

Wouldn't it require 2 separate blen doors for dual climate control?

    Mostly stuff I built.
I always keep a blanket and a neck pillow in the truck. No dual climate control needed.

This has worked for 17-18 out of 22 years of marriage for me. My wife can bundle or unbundle to her hearts content.

The math isn’t there. I’ve learned to keep it hot in the cab by default. If I’m hot, she’s good to go. But if I’m cold, she’s been dead for hours.

The Dual Zone climate has worked fine in our truck. She is sensitive to temperature but the truck makes her happy so we have no issues so far

It ain't about the wife being too hot or too cold -- the part about the wife with regards to the temperature has nothing to do with my comment/question.
It is about how she would not like it if I spent more money on the truck The parts are sometimes available in salvage yards, and if I happened across the automatic temp controlled one -- is it a simple swap out?

I doubt it. Just in venting alone. Imagine you’d have to gut the dash and install whatever voodoo they have in there. The basic system accounts for one setting across all vents, so one main vent and simple controls. The other... I suppose it’s two vents routing around and with different controls. Is there even an HVAC logic board? Who knows. Nightmare.
