My Gf's annoying habit is her navigation skills. I know shes more than capable of easily google mapping our way to a destination but her problem is she tells me at the last minute to get off on the next exit AND she'll point to the left or right and say "turn right there". Sometimes i question her intelligence LOL.

:bikewhoops:I gotta say this. The purpose of this thread was two fold. One, to vent. That was accomplished. #2 was more unintentional, but I've got the results I would have wished for.....I know I'm not the only one who's bought a ticket on this wild ride.....

My girlfriend flips the visor down when the sun is in her eyes. But as soon as that sun is moved I reach over and flip it back up, with zero hesitation. If it's to the side I ask her to put it back.

The mirror on the visor distracts me. I explained that and she's never questioned it. Maybe a genuine explanation will solve your annoyance.

short story about my gf.... visor thing doesn't bother me. I mean it does but its not the end of t world. I hate when she exits truck and leaves it down or leaves the mirror slid open and then just flip the visor up.

anyways my story, one time I was out skateboarding with some friends and she ran home real quick. it was about 8-9pm. and she comes driving back and pulls up with just my foglights on (yellow).I ask, "did you drive home and back like that?" she says yea why? I say well the headlights aren't on....she said ohh it was pretty bright I thought they were automatic. Im like I know my foglights are bright but not that bright....lol

I don't think shes ever drove it again.

Good for you! I had over 33 before cancer took #1. A few years later I remarried, also a widow, and now have 5 more on the clock.

It's not easy, but too many people don't enter in the right way, nor do they want to make the effort to deal with the issues that will arise!

My parents were almost to 71 (!) when Dad passed; my aunt and uncle hit 70 this year, right by you (Glasgow)

Yep....You have to learn to compromise. And you certainly have to learn to pick your battles. Some things are just not important enough to bicker over. It ain't always easy, but our marriage has definately been worth the work.

My wife's family is scattered around the Bowling Green Glasgow area. Beautiful country!

I feel your pain. When mine is the navigator, her favorite line is, "You should have turned back there".....

It's all my fault. I didn't have to say I do....

Yep. My dad was from Dry Fork and my mom born in Roseville. We spent some time there last year and I found a few graves on properties I knew had been in the family. The coolest was in Dry Fork, in someone's pasture. I knew it was the right place, as my great grandparents were there. But the oldest marker was pre-revolutionary war, an ancestor from Scotland.

I KNEW there was a reason I liked tartan. :D

And there is a road there (to the cemetery) with my last name on it; the cross road is my grandmothers maiden name. Plus a Lions ballpark with that name as well; some cousin of Dads that was a WWII casualty.

Most of the older generations of my wife's family is buried in what is now parts of Mammouth Cave National Park. We spent a couple weeks down there about 5 years ago, tracking down old cemetaries. All my family that's in this country is buried in and around the Indianapolis Indiana area. Before that, in Germany.

Try having a 13yr old daughter constantly tapping your touchscreen searching for the perfect song every 3 minutes. The second day I had it I came outside to see her with her dirty feet pressed against the windshield! At least her mother will never see the inside of my ride. Good kid otherwise.

A teen age daughter....BTDT and still have the scares to prove it. You have my sympathies. Now we're helping to raise 2 teen age GRAND daughters.

In my 58-1/2 years, I've got to do just about anything and everything I ever wanted to do. I consider raising our kids and grand kids to be the ultimate accomplishment. There is NOTHING more satisfying than seeing your children turn in to happy, healthy, successful adults.

Nah she's a great kid, just has a few of her mother's tendencies. Like arguing why it's no big deal to put her feet up on the dash against the windshield.

I feel your pain. My wife 5ft me 6'3 and I hate driving with her early or late. Stop lights and signs drive me crazy. Everytime I look right that damn visor is there even with the $180 Costas I bought her. Even got the windows tinted. I guess this is something I am going to deal with for the long run....:ballchain:

I am married OP but have only been for a fraction of your time..

I'll take your advice on that one, and report back - it does sound wise.
