    Do you have to worry about water/snow/mud (not sure where you live) I getting on the compressor? I live near Chicago so winter are brutal with all the salt. What if you had to go through a decently deep puddle would it screw it up? This might be dumb questions but I love that location but I plan on off-roading quite a bit so I figured I would ask.

    The compressor is sealed and designed to be frame mounted. It has a remote mounted air pickup. Mine is plumbed up to pull clean dry air from the passenger side cubby next to the power outlet in the bed.

    I wrapped the air lines on the passenger side in heat reflective sheathing to protect from the exhaust

    The only worry that I would have is if it was hot (running a long time) and it was dunked in ice water. But i cannot think of a scenario where that would happen

    I originally planned to build a splash guard around it, but decided that would just hold dirt and water, more than protect anything.
