Hey everyone. I just peeked under my truck thinking about doing my slider install in a couple days and noticed what looks like some sort of leak around a hose. I’m not sure what all is fed by this. I don’t think it’s the brakes so that’s good. Other than that I’m pretty lost here...

also the truck has been off for about 18 hours

    Any opinions?

I think it’s just grease on the frame. Or rustproofing. Pretty sure the hose looking thing is split loom for wiring

    Hi man!

I am not a mechanic, but due to the place of the possible leak I would initially don’t panic... I would be relieved that it is not like under the engine or tranny...

it is weird to have a humid spot on the side of your frame.... I do not know what line with fluids would go near the outside face of the frame... brake lines? Gas lines?

let us know what you found..

Its just a wire loom. Probably picked up some grease from the road, or if you ever had it sprayed with rust proofing as mentioned above. Check to see why its hanging so low, there should be a couple clips right near where your photo is holding it to the frame.569C8E08-1C22-4E94-9598-4D6553E8596E.jpg

Thanks guys. I will check out why it is hanging so low. Current theory is that condensation collected on the low point on that wire loom and saturated the surrounding dirt on the frame. The tried and true smell test did not point to any type of gas/oil. I don't think I have an issue.
