I am the 3rd owner of this 240k mile truck, daily driven since June 2020.

    Thanks!

Hard to say. Is it connected to any accessories?

No, just that weird puck thing and the port in the pictures. All of it was tucked behind the dash panel.

I ended up just putting it all back, but I’m still super curious about what it all is.

I would do a google picture search on the orange disc looking dealio.

looks like some type of sensor or pick up for a signal.
    love the Cat 5 wiring...

Looks like the remnants of an aftermarket security/remote start/tracking system.

That square thing with the four wires coming from it is a relay. You can start the truck and then temporarily disconnect one of the smaller wires and see what doesn't work.

That was the odd part to me - no text at all, except for on the relay. After extensive googling, I believe it is an old dealer installed ignition cutoff and tracker, maybe to allow the dealership to disable vehicle function if the buyer was delinquent on loan payments.

Interestingly, I wasn't able to find the clip connections for the door buzzer like I had seen in some other threads, maybe they were reworked when that whole janky mess was installed.
